AP Blackout Date Question.

I'm going to be at WDW in April with my DD17's high school band. It is during the black out dates for AP's. Does anyone know if I will still have access to the AP benefits, discounts and Memory Maker, specifically?

I will have a current AP, but I will be entering the park with a group ticket.

It depends on what type of AP you have. Silver and Gold passes are blacked out from April 8 through 21, 2017. I believe the Weekday Select blockout dates run through the 23rd (and include April 1, 2, and 29). Platinum and Platnum Pluss passes do not have blackout dates.

Based on the way MM works, my guess is that you'll have access. The photos load to your account and it's just sort of "on."

You'll definitely want your group ticket to your MDE though.

As far as other perks (like discounts etc,) YMMV. My guess is that you're "technically" not entitled but as long as you present an AP you'll get the discount.

My ap was blacked out for these past 2 weeks, and I used it to get 20% off at The Wave, Homecoming, Grand Floridian Cafe, I also bought some things at Disney Springs and I got my discount and took pictures at some of the resorts and Disney Springs photopass studio and they uploaded to my MDE no problem

The AP discounts work online with no blackouts, so I'm hoping it's the same.

Blockout dates are park entrance so you need to either upgrade to a pass without them (prorated so it might be the cheapest choice if you need to get into a park and ask before you assume 1 day ticket is needed). Discounts and such there is a detailed list and I believe there are no blockout dates on any discounts (but there might be on some higher priced table service so again check the benefits website for where you plan to dine). photopass has no restrictions.

I don't need park entry since I will have a ticket with the group. We are not doing any table service while we are there with the group, so that's not a problem either.

your good to go then (and you don't have memory maker, you have included photopass downloads and it's the same thing but longer photo expiration)

I don't disagree, I have seen a new line of facebook ads where they are starting to call memorymaker a photo download package. it's all disney's fault for confusing everyone to think it was needed to take photos.
