Anyone else long time Annual Pass holder (more for us long - distance ap holders) thinking about not renewing the ap for the "big" discounts? Talked to cro yesterday, and the guy said "you guys keep calling, but actually the codes have been better" So if one of the main considerations was the big discounts disney offered as a perk is being given to everyone else, and even at a lower offer, than why pay for the pass, when I know I could get by with a lesser ticket. We went last year and had to buy hard tix to MNSSHP, and year before to MVMCP.

Anyway, guess I am just getting annoyed about the ap rates not coming out, cause I'm waiting for august and that still month's away!

We bought the AP's because we go to WDW enough days to justify having them. Park hoppers would be a lot more expensive for us. If you can get by with a lesser ticket then that is what you should be buying because resort discounts aren't guaranteed.

We go to WDW for 3 weeks every summer. We buy AP's every other year. One year we go for 3 weeks in August, the next year we go 3 weeks in July on the same AP's. No other pass would be this cost effective for our family. We own DVC so we only use the AP rates for the weekends to conserve our points. Back in 1988 when we first got AP's the rates were only available during a few weeks each year and almost impossible to get. The good rates they keep offering now are actually amazing.

We only bought our APs because we planned on using it alot for that year. We will have 30 days used on it when it expires this May. I didn't even know about the bonus rates you get with an AP until I after bought it. As far as cheaper rates, I've only used the AP rate once in the 3 trips I've taken this year. The other two times the public code were better then the AP rate anyway. So no, I'm not disappointed of the offerings because I didn't buy it for that. If you can get a public code that is better then an AP rate and that is your only reason for getting one then that is a waste.

As stated by others, AP discounts have never been a guarantee. A nice perk but that is all.

If you buy an AP expecting great discounts everytime you book, then you probably need to reconsider buying another ticket type.

I don't see AP discounts being that great this year, with the other codes out and being released so far in advance of any AP discount, if they offer any.

I guess I must be just getting old :( cause I remember when then didn't have "codes" and only discounts were magic kingdom club & aaa. So yes, we have used the ap for a larger discount for many years, and yes there where even a few months once in july we got "skipped" for a ap discount altogther. Also we used to spend alot more time in the park, hmm you guys are on to something, maybe I need to rethink our park time.

Thanks for you responses, MKY
