AP and regular tickets on your account

We are AP holders that expire in July. We plan to get one more trip in before they expired. I see there is a summer deal with a QS meal if you book a room with tickets. My idea is to book this package, but use the tickets at Christmas time. If you have an AP on your account and also the regular tickets will they use the AP first and the regular tickets will remain unused?

Of course if there are summer AP discounts on rooms we will use this option.

Your safest bet is to go by the ticket window or guest relations at the park entrance and ask them to verify that your AP is prioritized over the new tickets. They can change it if needed.

You can't assume it will use the proper ticket. The system is not smart enough, unfortunately. It's actually quite dumb
I would go by GS for certain or, once the tickets are available on your account (should be after you have checked in for that resort stay) you can move them yourself.
If you assign them to another guest on your MDE account they won't be used when you enter the park.
One easy option to to make a 2nd "you" such as geekplusnerd2 and then move the ticket to that user. Any unused ticket can be reassigned as often as you wish.

We had this situation once and mentioned it when we were entering the park. They called over one of the “ipad” people to prioritize the ticket we meant to use (in our case we wanted to use up a previously purchased ticket for my son and not activate his AP until the next trip).

We used the "reassign the ticket to another person" method when we had both an AP and regular ticket. I didn't want to take the time to wait in a long guest services line, so I just reassigned the ticket to fake person I had added to my MDE account.
