AP and parking

A friend has bought an AP and he is not staying on site. Will he be able to use his voucher for free parking on his first day or will he have to pay as he has not exchanged the voucher?

I have never had a Disney AP but have had Universal one's.

We had to pay parking on the first day as our passes were not active, I suspect your friend will have to do the same.

Technically, he'll need to pay and reclaim the cost when he exchanges the voucher, but it depends on the individual CM at the kiosk.

With Disney and Seaworld I have shown my e-ticket for AP at the gate and allowed in no problems.
Universal I renew online/phone which extends the current AP so it never runs out but I have heard, like Johnny Universal makes you pay.

I think you can exchange your voucher for an AP at the DTD Guest Relations. He could nip into DTD first thing to get his AP before driving to the parks

Yes you can, we did it at DTD this year.
