We purchased the DVC AP last year and have not picked them up or activated them yet. They are already linked on our MDE. Do we still need to pick them up before entering the park?

If we pick them up at Downtown Disney the day before we go to the park are they considered activated as of the pickup day or the first day used in the park?

They need to enter your member information into the system, verify ID's for adults and activate the pass.

It will be effective on the day you activate.

Where do you go to activate them? Any ticket window or does it have to be someplace special? Can you do it at the ticket office in down town disney

Any Park Ticket Window or Guest Relations Location. This includes the Water Parks, TTC, DTD and IG (Epcot's International Gateway). The resorts are unable to do anything related to Annual Passes.

Thanks for the replies. I guess we will be getting up early the first morning and driving to the TTC from BCV. I am assuming we have to activate them before getting to the turnstiles. It would have been nice to get them at Downtown Disney the night before, but I don't want to activate them before using.

If you exchanged for your PAPs the night before, is having an expiration date one day earlier than if you picked them up the next morning really going to make a difference?

There is also a guest relations outside the turnsiles at MK if you want to take the bus. The windows are on the end near the bus stops.

That is good to know.

Also, I don't want to activate until Dec 22nd in case we decide to make one more trip to Disney with our APs the following year. The kids will get out of school on the 19th, so we could be there for the weekend of the 20th and 21st. Otherwise, it wouldn't matter if we activated the night before.

Thanks for all the help!

If you 'activate' them on 12/21/2013, they will be valid until the close of business on 12/21/2014.

Why not walk over to EPCOT (International Gateway) and activate them at Guest Relations there? :confused3

This is why I love the DisBoards! That is great news. I would much rather activate on Saturday night at Downtown Disney than spend the time on Sunday morning.

Since it appears you are staying at BCV, you could do a Bojo said and activate them at Epcot's International Gateway (back entrance) if you arrive while Epcot is open. The IG has both a Guest Relation window and Ticket Windows.
