ap and dvc discount question?

if you purchase and annual pass and you are a DVCer do you get both the AP discounts and the DVC discount when eating or shopping etc?

No. They take the greater of the two (if there is a difference in discounts). However, many of the discounts are not duplicated between APs and DVC.

No one should purchase an AP based solely upon the the discount offers, but on park usage. This is especially true for DVCers.

Just posting to agree with Chuck S and to add that I can't think of any discount offer at Disney that allows you to add/combine discounts. You have to pick one.
