WE are spending the first four nights of our vacation at a Universal hotel in October and then travelling by cab to Pop Century. On the day we check out of Royal Pacific, intend to spend a full day at Universal park to take advantage of FOTL benefits.

Before we go will get WDW AP - booked via telephone with 'will collect' option - would feel better collecting than risking our postal service! If we go to Pop Century at about 5-6pm to check in, we then planned to chill out and spend evening in resort and have a swim and leave the theme parks until the following day(where we could pick up AP's)

But will we be able to check in at hotel and claim AP discount on room (assuming we'd got lucky and managed to get a discount if and when rates come out end of the summer?) using just the AP booking reference number. Or .... will we have to leave luggage at Pop Century and head over to a park to get the actual AP's on the day of check in and then go back to claim luggage and check into room.We would have to leave Universal earlier that day and it would be a general pain in the you know what!

I know I could probably buy AP's at the Disney Store at Orlando airport but one thing, we're arriving late and secondly, we've have the passes a few days too early (and I wanted to get them as late as poss to allow for a trip in 2005 - possibly again October)

Sorry this is long - I hope you understand it, and any suggestions on how best to do this would be really appreciated.

Prevailing wisdom says that you need to have either an AP or an AP voucher with you at check in.

Anecdotal evidence says not everyone is asked for their AP at checkin. And that you could ask the front desk if you could show your AP once you have gotten it the next day.

If you are nervous about that, here is another option:

What I would do, is have the taxi drop off one member of your party at the TTC where they can pick up the passes. The rest of your party should continue on to POP. Then they can unload the taxi and just relax until the AP 'fetcher' arrives. Whomever gets off at tht TTC can then just hop on a POP bus, and then you can check in when the passes arrive.

It's a bit convoluted, and I am sure others might have a better suggestion as well.

I hope you have a great trip!!
