ap and check in

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but I booked an ap rate for Nov. and I have not yet purchased my pass yet; I read that the disney store only gives you a voucher...do I need the actual pass or will they accept the voucher at check in? Should I purchase the pass at the orando Airport?? Help!

I truly wouldn't worry. I'm not sure I was ever asked to show my AP (in ~ 14 trips). A voucher is proof that the AP is purchased. You can always get it activated and show it at the front desk later on.

The official policy is that you have to have the activated AP at check-in, but we've never been asked for our APs at check-in, so I wouldn't worry about it. The worst thing would be you have to go have it activated and bring it back to show before check-out, to get the discounted rate.

We got our AP vouchers at the Disney Store and I was worried, too, but we checked in and then went to the MK to exchange for APs, no big deal. Never been asked about it, then or since.

In all my years with an AP, I have only been asked once for my pass. It happened this weekend at Pop. I was really surprised since I'd never been asked before... I wouldn't worry much about it; if they ask, show them your voucher; unless you get a really nasty CM, I doubt they will not let you hold your AP rate when you show proof of purchase. And if they do, just ask to see a manager!

she told me the voucher is just fine.

We were worried about that too last November. We checked in at AKL with just our vouchers and the CM did not even ask to see them.

We figured if the CM told us our vouchers needed to be activated, we would just store our luggage at the front desk and then just take a bus over to a park and activate them.

We were never asked for our AP at checkin last month. Although, policies seem to be carried out differently per CM and sometimes per resort. It wouldn't hurt to have the AP with you at check in.
