Hi Everyone.

So we are going on a trip this coming September and plan to go again in July 2019 so right now my plan is to upgrade my current salute your way tickets to an annual pass. I know "historically," the Fall bounce back offer is free Disney dining. I also know traditionally when the non-bounce back free dining promotion is offered you are required to buy at least a X amount of day ticket along with your package. I assume that will be the same for the bounce back offer. Would that mean that I would have to forego the bounce back offer if I upgrade to an AP since I will not need to buy any park tickets? Or do they forgo the ticket purchase requirement if you have the AP? OR is there a separate awesome discount for AP holders and will I be eligible for that as soon as I upgrade, while on my trip? I know this is all theoretical as the Fall bounce back offer is not here yet (if it will come) but I am trying to get plans, numbers, etc. in my head.

There are AP discounts on select lodging. Usually every season has a set of discounts. Once you get your AP you'll be able to click into the Annual Passholder section of MDE and see the offers. Right now it is showing two offers: 'Soar into Summer' for stays up through Aug 30th and 'Get a jump start on September fun' for stays from Aug 26th through Oct 7th. For the September offer, which says 'save up to 25%' it shows all hotels participating. A quick check for a few days mid September showed availability in about half of the hotels.

If you do book the free dining package, you will still need to fulfill all the requirements, including the minimum ticket purchase. They don't let the ticket requirement slide if you have an AP. You can then use those tickets later (after your AP expires), or use them to help defray the cost of renewing your AP.

Do they tend to release AP discount offers as far out as they do bounce back offers co I can compare before I buy?

It has been a while since I have been on site and seen the bounce back offers but the last one I saw extended out quite far, a year is what I remember. Many years ago I booked a couple of successive early December bouce back stays. The AP discount offers seem to extend out a season or two. They do seem to offer about the same level of discounts, around 25%.

Perhaps someone with more recent experience will comment.
