I am getting an AP from Nov. 2018 - Nov. 2019. My daughter's 3rd birthday is mid-October, so I am only getting APs for myself, wife and son.

I assume, that I would need a ticket for her .. IF I decided to go to Disney in the few weeks between her birthday and the end of the AP?

Children that young aren't "bundled" into an AP I assume like how they "don't age" if a 3rd birthday happens while you are on property.

Just trying to plan the timing of the final trip before we have to start paying her way .. heh. Kids are expensive! :)

I'll probably just do what I did with my son and plan the trip so her birthday falls during the trip.

Arrive for your stay before she turns 3. If you arrive for your stay and she has already turned three, she needs a ticket. If she is two when you arrive, she doesn't.

Okay . didn't think there was a "Annual Passholder exception" (otherwise people would probably take advantage of this too much) .. but doesn't hurt to ask.

That was my original plan before even considering an AP (arrive a day or two before her birthday) and enjoy one final trip of being free.

If you go after her birthday, but before the APs expire, just buy her a park hopper for the days she needs it. And if you all get APs again, she'll need one, too.
