OK I received my AP voucher in the mail yesterday.... now for the questions...

1- Exactly where can I get I get it activated???
Is this right?? GS= Guest Services

MK GS to the right of the gate
MGM GS to the left of the gate
Epcot GS to the right of the Main Gate and International Gateway
AK GS to the left of the gate
DTD GS at Marketplace and West Side

Are there others? TTC? Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon?

2- What are the hours? How long before and after the parks are open are they open?

3- Would DTD Marketplace be the easiest to get in and out of?

We will be in WDW at 5pm and need to activate an AP either that evening or before an early PS (8am) at MK. Any thoughts?

We activated our AP's at the MK guest services window. It is to the right of the gate. We were staying at the Polynesian. Got in around 7PM and hopped the monorail over to the park. The whole process took no more than 15 minutes. Not sure of the hours as the park was still open. I believe DH and I had to show our driver license but no ID required for the kids. Make sure to check the expiration date of the AP before you leave the window. One of ours had the date we purchased the voucher instead of the date we activated them. We purchased in August and activated in November. Have a great time. :flower:

I would go the Guest Services at Downtown Disney when you arrive. See if you can get into that small parking lot by the toy store.

We got into town mid-afternoon and went to DTD to activate (actually, we purchased and activated). Great, just a couple of people in front of us and 3 CM's working the counter. After a bite to eat at Earl's we hopped on over to Epcot. Very easy!!!

You can activate your voucher at any of the theme park and DTD locations you mentioned. It can also be activated at any WDW theme park ticket location.

Golden Oldie or anyone alse that knows, what do you think the following codes mean. These are possible prefixes for passes. Some I know, some I can guess...others I'm clueless.

WTS
WPI...Pleasure Island
WBB....Blizzard Beach
WMK....MK
WST....Disney Studios
WTL....Typhoon Lagoon
WDR
WEC...Epcot probably but which of 3
WNR
WSC...World Showcase entrance??
WAK...AK
WRS
WSG...maybe Shades of Green
WDW....maybe TTC

OK I'm feeling a little clueless... Does 'WDW theme park ticket location' mean at the actual park gates and TTC?

Lisa, you can activate at the TTC as well as at Guest Services at the MK. I'm not sure what Golden Oldie means.

From the Polynesian it would be easy to walk over to the TTC your first night to activate them or take the monorail to the MK or TTC for fun and do so.

I also don't think you will have trouble before your breakfast the next day. My DH and DD renewal needed to be activated this summer but I didn't want my family to wait in a long line near 9 am for opening. I was up early the next day anyway and hopped the monorail over to the MK. I believe this was around 7:30-7:45. I know it was before 8am. I had called the guest services # on the room phone and had been told that both booths would not open until 9am when the park opened. That made no sense so I tried it and it worked.

weluvM&M, an Annual Pass voucher is mailed to you when you order an annual pass in advance. You then exchange it for an activated pass at WDW.

Thanks BCV23! That's good to know about the opening times of GS at MK. I thought it must open earlier than the parks. I know the last trip the TTC booths were open when we were there at 8am for a 8:30 PS. It makes me a little nervous though. Don't want to be late for the castle!! I'm the only one that ended up getting the AP, so we may swing by DTD when we get there. We'll see how it goes. If my little one is asleep, DH can drop me off and pick me up in a few. I've never been to DTD so I hope it will be easy.

We will be at AKL to start so a quick trip to the TTC wouldn't work as nicely as the poly.

WTS = Ticket Services ( bulk tickets, tickets sold off disney property, ect. )
WDR = Resorts
WEC = EPCOT

The rest of them are a little fuzzy..

I got mine at the International Gateway, it's WEC.

You can use any ticket window to activate your AP. I've used the IG a few times, used the AK ticket windows a couple times, I've used outside the MK turnsiles & Downtown Disney Guest Services.

Well I should have looked, Allears explains it pretty good...

Where and how do I activate the voucher?

To activate the voucher, turn the voucher and a photo ID into the Guest Relations window at either the Magic Kingdom, Epcot (either front or International Gateway side), Disney-MGM Studios, the Animal Kingdom, or either Guest Relations office at Downtown Disney. You cannot activate your voucher at a WDW resort Guest Services. You can now purchase a new AP or activate the voucher at any WDW major park ticket location, not just at Guest Relations. This may be a good option if you're doing this at off peak times of the day. It may still be a good bet to use Guest Relations during the park opening rush.

TIP - There is only one place off property where you can exchange your voucher. That is at the Ocala Information Center in Ocala, Florida. This is run by Disney's Guest Relations. They can also make resort reservations for you there.

TIP - The Guest Relations Window at Epcot's World Showcase is generally MUCH less crowded than other Park Guest Relations windows

Disney isn't always as logical as you think. ;) My current AP was purchased (not a voucher exchange) at the TTC in December and it carries a WAK. I'll check around see if I can find out anything more about a pattern.

The ticket code always relates to the last place it was printed from. Should the ticket be de-magnitized, the CM uses the date it was printed, the 3 letter location code, the CAS station #, and the ticket number to find it in the system and reprint it.

For example, lets say I bought a Premium Annual pass online. I went to the Magic Kingdom to activate it, thus my ticket will say WMK. I get my wallet wet on Splash Mountain, and my ticket got damaged. I get my ticket re-printed at the Pleasure Island ticket booth, and now it says WPI. After a long night of partying at Pleasure Island, I accidently dropped my ticket, but didn't realize that until I was already at EPCOT the next morning. I go to guest services, tell them I lost it, they re-print my ticket, and now it says WEC. :)

Thanks for the input GoldenOldie and TSR6.

Lisa, I read recently that the DTD guest services at the Marketplace is a good place to exchange in the evening...less crowded than the Pleasure Island location.

Thanks for starting this thread and for all the replies. We're going to purchase our first-ever AP's soon and being the overplanner that I am, I was wondering the same thing. Since we'll be at the BWV's then I'll aim to activate mine at the international gateway enterance. Thanks everyone!!

WTS-Walt Disney Ticket Services, bulk tickets, etc
WPI...Pleasure Island
WBB....Blizzard Beach
WMK....MK
WST....Disney Studios
WTL....Typhoon Lagoon
WDR... Don't know exactly what it stands for, but it is the code used when tickets are issued from Downtown Disney
WEC...Epcot front gate, or Showcase entrance (know as International Gateway)
WNR.. I want to say this means non resort, but can't place it... possibly the Disney Store
WSC... Wide World of Sports Complex
WAK...AK
WRS.. Disney Resorts
WSG... Shades of Green
WDW.... Tickets ordered through Disney on the phone

A voucher is the plastic card that is sent to you in the mail by Disney preorder. It is green in color. You take this to any Guest Relations location located either at the Walt Disney World Theme parks, the Ticket and Transportation Center or Downtown Disney. Guest Relations is not the same as Guest Services as they can do more types of transactions, such as activate Annual Passes.

Hope this helps! :cool1:
