AP activation and Hollywood Studios rope drop

Unfortunately, our travel plans have changed and we will be checking in to our room late after all the parks and Disney Springs have closed.
This now means we will need to activate our new APs in the morning before we enter Hollywood Studios. From what I have read, it looks like Guest Relations opens AT park opening time and the ticket counters open one hour prior to official park opening and that I can also activate passes there as well. Can someone confirm this for me?

I know we won’t be in the front of the line for rope drop now, but I’m hoping we won’t be too far behind. Will it be crazy by then?

Yes, you can activate your APs at any ticket booth. I've done it multiple times, including since the reopening. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
