We have our AP vouchers and plan to exchange them for the actual APs on our first night at MK.

What is the procedure for doing this and how long does it take?

Has anyone ever had trouble with the biometric finger scans?

Any of the ticket windows at the main parks should be able to handle this Tim. I think they ask for photo ID, so remember to take along passport or new-style driving licence if you have one.

The whole process usually takes 5-10 mins, depending on how experienced the CM in the booth is. In my experience the part that takes the longest is fitting a UK address and post code into their computer system :)

We normally don't have any trouble with the biometrics, but one pass a couple of years ago did occasionally refuse entry, and the person on the entry gate was able to reset it and take a new reading right there and then - no problems afterwards.

Paul - do they scan your fingers when you activate the passes or the first time you use them at the turnstiles?

First time through the turnstiles Tim. I guess the system knows that it's a 'virgin' pass and records the position of your fingers at that point, then compares the measurement it takes on subsequent visits.

As Paul says, it's easy Tim.
We had a bit of bother first time we tried to use them but think that was more panic and hurry to get into MK ! Once we learned the technique and to watch the lights, we had no trouble.

If you do have difficulty 'clearing' the turnstile, they'll ask for ID before allowing access, so maybe best to carry something at all times.

The photo D we have is our passports - don't fancy having to cary them round al the time. Will they accept a colour copy of the relevant page from our passports as an ID?

Not sure about that one. I would take the passports when you first exchange the vouchers, and then perhaps carry the photocopy the rest of the time, just in case.
