AP 3-day park reservations

Any idea when the 3-day maximum rule may be lifted?
We are out of state AP holders from the midwest and it's very irritating to not be able to reserve park days for a full week when staying offsite. I can understand not wanting the locals to lock up the parks on the weekend with several weekend reservations, but I wish there was a way to reserve days in a continuous week. We plan to travel sometime in the Spring. As a AP holder, I can't have the same trip that another family has that stays offsite and buys a multi-day ticket. Very sad. I never dreamed we would ever be treated so badly. It's hard enough to not have park-hopping, but with the park reservation system blocking us beyond 3 days, it's horrible!!

Just book an onsite reservation and can book your entire stay.

Well they haven't said anything changing that situation, but I assume there is no move to change that. It's probably the only benefit of booking an onsite room right now (aside from the really good discounts for rooms right now).
