AP 20% Discount Limited?

For those of you shopping and taking advantage of the AP discount (20%), is it limited to WDW merchandise only? For example, are items such a Alex & Ani or Jim Shore excluded?

Passholders are now eligible to receive a 20% discount on select merchandise purchases at select merchandise locations.

This discount does not apply to Walt Disney World Resort Operating Participant locations, including but not limited to: China, Japan and Morocco Pavilions at World Showcase in Epcot, Arribas Brothers, Basin®, Basin White, Cirque du Soleil®, Curl® by Sammy Duvall, Ghirardelli® Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop, House of Blues®, The LEGO® Store, LittleMissMatched®, Orlando Harley-Davidson®, Pop Gallery, Rainforest Cafe®, Rubio Balloon Arts, Sammy Duvall's Watersports Centre, Sosa Family Cigars, Something Silver®, Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Sunglass Icon®, Surrey Bike Rentals, T-REX, Wyland Galleries, The Disney Store, Disney's Character Premiere, Disney's Character Warehouse, Cast Connection and any other locations or kiosks that are not owned and operated by the owners of Walt Disney World Resort.

Discount is not valid on certain items, including but not limited to, previous purchases, ticket media, Disney Gift Cards, Park admission, Arcades, Disney Dollars, tobacco, alcohol, outdoor vending (e.g., in-Park balloon vendors, glow vendors), Add-a-Dollar (Wildlife Conservation Fund), postage stamps, rentals (e.g., strollers, ECV), personalization, Memory Maker, Memory Maker One Day, select print packages, and any online purchases from Disney PhotoPass, Disney Store Online, framed Disney Dollars, Artist Sketch Program (original art), live auction artwork, original or consignment art, newspapers/periodicals, videos, DVDs, CDs, sundries, pantry/prepared foods, kitchen products, digital/video/disposable cameras, film, consumer electronics, National branded fragrances, treatments and cosmetics, Lladró, Swarovski® Crystal, select collectible originals, select specialized toys, select specialty items, handmade items, special orders, purchase-with-purchase offers, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and The Pirates League packages, shipping or taxes, or on phone, email, online or mail order purchases. I think there is a discount at the various Disney stores that carry them, but I do not think there is a discount at the Disney Springs Alex and Ani or Pandora stores.

Correct-those stores are not "owned and operated by the owners of Walt Disney World Resort".

The AP discount works at the Lego Store in Disney Springs even though its on the excluded list; however, the discount i think is a nominal 5%. We always ask as the list of participating shops and restaurants will often change. In October some restaurants we patronize had recently been added a week prior to our visit and only the staff of those places knew of it.

Ditto again...just ask everywhere...doesn't hurt. Like PP, I have all 3--AP, DVC and Visa--so I'm always asking and always checking every possibility online.

I have gotten ap discount in past on d+b purses and Pandora charms bought at tren d and cherry tree lane both in ds

We received 20% at the Alex and Ani store in the Springs (twice) but they were only offering 10% at the pandora store in the Srings so we just bought all our Pandora charms at the jewellers in the MK.
