AP’s DDE/TIW Question?

I currently have a DVC discounted AP. If I were to call to get a TIW discount card now, would it start the 12 month as soon as I got it or as soon as I use it? My AP runs until mid November and seeing that our trip isn’t until February, I plan on getting a new discounted AP when I arrive. Also, do I have to call Member Services in order to get the AP discounted ticket? If I wait to get the TIW discount card until I arrive is it a temporary or plastic card?

If you were to call and order the card, it would be about 13 months from the month you place the call. If you arent going to WDW before February, I would wait and get it there when you purchase your new AP.

you can only buy the cards in person now - at guest services. They're the same paper type card as the AP's. THey run for 13 months.

Are you certain that DDE can no longer be ordered by phone? People were still ordering it by phone earlier this year. They reported getting the old plastic type card instead of the Tyvek.

It is a great convenience though to be able to just buy them at all the Guest Services.

If you order by phone it will take some time to get. I recently went down and did it right at guest services, at any park. You can get the card right there. Although if you have the time to order it, you will get a nice plastic one instead of a paper card type.
