I was thinking of hanging a black sheet between the dining/livingroom area.. anyone do that? I am planning on bringing command hanger, thin bungie and a queen size black sheet.. any input

I've never stayed at AofA, but I have used a tension curtain rod and a sheet to make a divider between the Master bedroom and bathroom in the one-bed room DVC unit at the Boardwalk. I thought about using a Command hook, but after having it remove a piece of the wall paint at my house I am hesitant to use it anywhere but at home.

You might be able to make that work. There's a clothes hanging rod you could tie one end of the string to. It's the other end that's going to be tougher - is that command hanger going to be strong enough and do they really not damage the wall? Across the room from the closet area is the kitchenette area - but that's just a couple of shelves up high - not sure what you could attach it to. Maybe a D clamp and some padding so you won't damage the shelf?

thanks for your thoughts.. I have used command strips for years and no damage.. But I like the tension rod. But I don't know the distance of the opening...

If you go to the first post of this thread, you can see the layout diagram for the suites.

I don't have the exact measurements, but I think going from the clothing bar in the living room "closet" to the kitchenette shelves would be about 9 feet. There is a small wall/panel on the side of the shelves of the kitchen that you could attach the Command hook to. However, I don't think a Queen size sheet will cover that entire distance. Plus, with the "pull" of the bungie, it may be too "heavy" for the Command hook.

The other option might be to run the line diagonally from the clothes bar to the doorway of the sink area by the bathroom. That would only be about a 6-7 ft. distance (I think). However, this would require putting the command hook on the wall. While I know you've said that you've had no problem using the Command strips, I have several places in my house where it has pulled paint off of the wall. I have also removed numerous strips with no problem. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to which ones pull paint off and which ones don't. Sometimes they've been from the same package and on the same wall -- one pulls paint and the other one doesn't.

I don't think a tension rod is going to be an option in either of those places. The first one would be too long of a distance and the second one doesn't have flat surfaces on either side of the opening.

It would be nice if Disney provided a curtain that could divide those two areas -- maybe it's something they'll consider when they update the rooms some day.
