Just re-booked our vacation in Sept. from the AKL to AOA because we wanted to save some $$$$ I booked a Nemo family suite and my DD is 4 and DS is 2 I believe they will love it but I am worried about DH. We stayed at a moderate before and it was not what we like but I also think it was the people on the trip to. Will we love it?

Did you show DH pictures of AoA? Was he ok with the looks of it? You obviously know your husband better than any of us...I think AoA has alot going for it with the zero entry pool, and where you booked a suite, you will still have indoor corridors to the rooms. The food court looks interesting. Obviously there is a huge difference in the theming between AKL and AoA, but you go over the details with your DH and he is fine with it, then you should be fine. Hey, you'll be at Disney!

I agree with PP make sure dh is on board with it. My dh was anti value until we tried pop. He likes it enough that he don't understand why we would need to stay anywhere but there from now on. I love pop myself but the beds aren't deluxe beds IMO they are really firm. But after a day or 2 I get use to them.

We are currently booked at AoA LK in Nov., but are considering moving to AKL or even WL. I'm sure that we will both get good advice, since I posted my question about it before I saw yours.

My DH is okay with either. He's never been to WDW so he is open. I just want to make sure my family has the best trip possible.

Good luck! I'm sure where ever you stay will be wonderful!

We typically stay deluxe, but I took my DS4 down to AoA in June to try it out and my sister joined us. My DS4 loved it - loved the pool and sprinkler area, loved walking around Cars and Nemo, loved the arcade. I personally was not a big fan - would much rather stay at a deluxe for all of the amenities. As soon as I got home I told my DH - good thing you didn't go, you would have hated it! I don't know your husband, buy my DH wants to relax, have a nice sit down meal, be in a deluxe resort that doesn't shout DISNEY at every turn. I am really glad he didn't go, because that may have been his last WDW trip if I had made him stay there!

Oh you'll like it! Although AoA is technically a value resort, it doesn't feel like one!

Disney went all out designing this resort, and the look and feel of it is so magical and wonderful.

I can't imagine anyone staying there and NOT liking it.

My DH is not all that crazy about the idea of AoA, but wants to stay there the first part of our trip for the little ones. My DS4 will be in heaven - 2 of his favorite 3 movies are Finding Nemo and Cars (the other is Toy Story). All the kids will enjoy it. DH is worried the room won't be as comfortable, but I'm sure it will be fine. :) We're doing a split stay - AoA and the Treehouse Villas. Maybe a split stay would be the way for your family to get the best of both worlds?

Hmmm, I'd run it by your DH and show him the pics. I talked mine into one night, arrival night, but then he's very happy with our choice of SSR/THV and AKV. Mine isn't a Value sorta guy. Although he won't admit it, he likes to be spoiled while on vacation. So do I but I couldn't help but move the trip up one day just to check out AoA. One of our family's favorite movies in Finding Nemo and I've just got to hear the sound effects in the pool.

*Just my opinion

If I was looking to save some money, I'd do a moderate. You can probably get a deal or FD in September. POFQ might be nice for a couple of little ones.

...or see if they offer FD at AKL or WL at that time, which would save you some money.

I don't know about your DH, but I know I want nothing to do with a small value room that looks like a cartoon. The 4 yr old will think it's cool when you check in, but that only lasts an hour or so.

WL and AKL
