AOA vs ASMu Suites...Worth the $$?

So, I'm planning our upcoming WDW vacation for 9 nights the end of Feb. It will be me, hubby, DS12, DD9, DS7, DD3. I'm trying to decide between AOA Cars Suite and ASMu Family Suite. It's a $932 difference between the two resort suites. My DS7 loves Cars and I know he would get a big kick out of the theming at AOA. We aren't buying the dining plan, and will be paying OOP for our meals. I plan on preparing and eating some meals in our suite (mainly breakfast). So please tell me truthfully, is AOA really worth almost $1000 more??? Thanks!

And for what it's worth, DH and the kids all want to stay at AOA. But I know my family, and they will be happy no matter where we stay. It's Disney World after all! Lol! I just need y'all to tell me it really is worth the extra money...or that it's not. Lol! Thanks!

I've never stayed at All Star Music, however I've stayed in Cars at AOA. I looked at the pictures and looks like AOA is 46 sq foot bigger. The Cars pool at AOA is super cute, complete with cozy cone cabanas. However I tend to be a cheapskate and for that kind of money I'd go with Music. I think it would be how much that extra space would save your sanity, and how much time you really plan on spending in the room.

I'm not really worried about the extra space. I've watched videos of both suites, and I like how big the kitchenette area is in the ASMu. It seems to have a lot more storage space. But I'm not sure that really matters a whole lot. Lol!

We were originally planning a trip in September 2017 for AOA during free dining, but we had to change our dates to the end of February. With free dining, I didn't mind the extra cost of AOA as much. Now I'm rethinking the extra expense. The big thing that keeps nagging at me is that my DS7 is in love with Cars right now. I'm not sure when we will get back to WDW, but I'm pretty sure the next time we go, Lightening McQueen won't still be his hero. Lol!

We loved our ASMusic family suite two years ago. The food court was closed for renovations while we were there, which means you'd get the renovated food court! One bonus as well is that the "kids' room"/living room has one double bed and two smaller beds, so less bed sharing if that's tough for your kids.

I haven't been to AOA, though.

I found the kitchenette to be functional and located in a nice spot as well. Again, no basis of comparison.

Well you could always go visit AOA and walk around the cars area. Lol I know I'm not helping much. I'd personally go with ASMu for the price, that's a lot of extra $ to play around with and will buy a lot of OOP meals.

If both suites fit your family exactly the same, i would say take the savings and put it towards food or whatever. Most people aren't in the rooms or at the resort long enough each day to let the atmosphere differences affect them.

I haven't stayed at AoA but we have stayed at ASMusic. We like the All Star resorts. They are clean, the food court is great and the bus service is decent. I'd say that you can do a lot with the $1000 you will save. You can walk around AoA anytime you want to visit the Cars section, we've done it twice and plan to do it again in a few weeks.

I'm pondering if this is a serious question. It's a $1K --that's a serious amount of money for two properties that are very similar to each other. Unless you have a large discretionary income (and if that's the case, let's face it - you wouldn't be asking this or even considering these two properties), put that $1K in a savings / investment account, apply it toward the principle of your mortgage, or heck -- use it as a down payment on another Disney vacation. Just don't blow it.

I love, love, love AoA, but that price difference is ridiculous. With as much as I love AoA, I would definitely go with Music. I've stayed there as well and had an enjoyable stay.
