With the current spring room discount the rate is basically the same for AoA mermaid rooms and PORS garden view. What would you choose? I think most people would say PO is a no brainier but I'm not sold on the theme. Will the pool rehab be done by May? I for sure would would not pick PO if the pool is closed. Give me your thoughts and the pros and cons.

I have stayed at both resorts and would choose POR hands down.

Not even a competition. POR all the way. And at the same price? That's a massive upgrade IMHO. Queen beds (and MUCH more comfortable), bigger room, mod amenities, boat to DS! LM - your looking at a 10 minute walk to the buses, food court, small room, no coffee maker, no way!!

I love the buses better at AofA, but having stayed at both, I would definitely choose any room at POR over a LM room.

Is the pool going to be open in May? I think that's my biggest hesitation.

I haven't ever stayed in AOA LM room, but we have stayed at both resorts. I have stayed in the LK and Nemo suites. I have also had several trips where we stayed at POR. My youngest wanted the first water slide she ever went down to be at FQ. She had a wild eyed bewildered look as she was coming down, but it is one memory I cherish. I love PO, it is truly beautiful.

Can you use the pools at both resorts?

Yes when you stay at POR, you can go over to FQ and use their pool too. They are like sister resorts. We would often catch the bus from the parks to FQ, grab beignets and munch on them on our way back. I love POR it is so relaxing. Love the boat to DS too. :)

Okay you guys convinced me! I had previously book AoA but when I saw that the same week at POR was only $76 more I didn't think I could pass that up. Yeah $10 extra a night is worth it.

We stayed in a LM room last Spring Break, and we will not be returning. The walk from the lobby (food/buses) to the LM rooms is 1/3 - 1/2 mile, which would probably be ok for a couple of days, but we were there a week. We ended up driving more than we intended, and considered using our car as a shuttle to and from the bus stop. Day after day it just wore on us.

I cannot emphasize enough how inconvenient the LM rooms are. If you are not intending to participate in any of the feature pool activities, eat at the food court or use the buses then it may work for you. the shower was really cute.

We looooove POR - would pick it, no question. The grounds are beautiful - and I love the smell when you get off the ME :)

POR would be my choice. I've stayed at both and I find POR to be more relaxing--from the way the rooms are decorated to the layout of the grounds. AOA is nice since it's newer but the color scheme is very loud and it's almost impossible to find a quiet spot to relax. POR does have the queen beds and the double sinks where as AOA is double bed w/single sink in the LM rooms.
