I can't believe I just put a title with that many acronyms in it ;) As I surmised, people are cancelling AoA to move to rooms with FD. Disney may also be opening some reserved rooms. They aren't accepting any discounts at all that I know of, you must pay rack rate which is $120 on Fri/Sat and $105 Sun-Thu for Oct. But if you HAD to stay at AoA and couldn't get in for the last couple of months because there were no Little Mermaid (non-suite) rooms available. Give it a try.

Do you have Suites or the Standards (LM) rooms? If you DID get the LM room, then it must be my week or the fact that these rooms are always sold out now so they don't have any more discounted rate LM rooms. I went around with them for a while and cancelled AAA rate rooms at Pop for AoA.

LM Standard room Dec 8-22. It is a small discount though just under 200 off in all but better than nothing. We were hoping for free dining but no such luck. Up until Monday they had availability for those dates on the disney website.

Magical Vacations Travel is doing an agency exclusive discount in November and December with Little Mermaid rooms included. Can check with them for availability as well.

I believe the lack of discount comes from timing. You bought earlier than me and are arriving much further out into the future, so you got a room that qualified for a discount. LM rooms were booked solid for over a month at least for October. I have been trying on the website many times a day and never got an option for the LM room. Today it opened up. And there are no more AAA discounted LM rooms. There are still AAA rates for suites.

Interesting Disney policy. I was told that in a recent meeting, it was explained to CMs that once a guest reserves a room and then cancels it (as is happening now as people leave AoA to go to another value resort) it goes back into the pool at rack rate. They won't allow it to be reused for a discount. So in theory, if there were 100 rooms out of the 800+ that could get a AAA discount and all got booked, that's it. And even if all 100 rooms freed up, I still could not get a discount on those rooms. It would have to be re-opened to be available for a special. So my only chance at a discount is if they come out with a new promotion and allow it at LM.
