AoA LM Room location request

Hi Folks,
It is our first time staying at AoA this February and we are pretty nervous about the distance from the transportation (especially after a long day in the parks!) to the LM rooms.
I have seen the map of AoA so it looks like we would prefer a room in Building 7. We are ground floor people. Does anyone know a room number that we should request? We understand that it is a request and not a guarantee but it is worth a try :-)
Also, we will be decorating the window/door for my goddaughter's 16th birthday. From the photos that I have seen, it looks like the doors are interior doors. Does this mean that people don't decorate their doors and only the windows?
Thanks so much for your help

In general, when it comes to room requests it's best to have a single request - either building # or ground floor. That increases your chances of getting what you want. Most of the rooms close to transportation are preferred rooms, so unless you paid for that category it's unlikely you'd be successful with that request.

I don't think there is a preferred section at AoA - at least as far as the LM rooms go.

You can certainly have multiple requests, but if you do, it's best to prioritize them. So whichever between Building 7 and Ground Floor is MOST important, put that as First Priority and the other as Second Priority.

That said, they are still just requests and cannot be guaranteed.

The Little Mermaid rooms have exterior hallways, so you'll be fine decorating. (The suites have interior hallways, which makes it a little confusing.)

I agree.

When we stayed in LM, I called and requested ground floor, close to Lion King section. We were given top floor in building 7 facing the lake at farthest point from LK, lol. At first I was disappointed, but found it was actually a great view and the “extra walk” was minimal. POP looked beautiful at night across the lake and we could see the beginnings of the Skyliner constrution.

Decorating windows is fine, we always do that when we go. We went to Disneyland last year and were the only ones with a decorated window. The maid loved it.
