When we stayed at Pop last time the beds dang near killed my back, and the pillows were awful. The beds hard and the pillows hard and tiny.

How are the beds at AOA and FQ? I'm trying to make a choice between the two and the bed is an important feature for me as that and the shower are pretty much the only thing I'll use in the room. Though I do prefer the theming at AOA it just makes me smile. I think I liked the FQ themeing better before I actually visited NOLA for the first time.

IMHO, moderates are always better than Value, no matter theming. POFQ is the smallest, most quaint moderate resort. It is very nice and I think all moderates except FW and CBR have queen sized beds. AoA has double, I think. But still, do you want a pool with a slide? A better food court? Less screaming children? Closer to parks? POFQ would be my choice if all those come in to play.

Pofq have queen beds. We stayed there in January. My adult daughter thought the beds were fine, I felt they were a tad hard, but not awful.
The shower is great and love the double sinks and storage underneath.

Not worried about the size of the bed, only how hard it is.
Nope, why would I want a pool with a slide? I'm a 311 lb woman with no kids - what good does a slide do me?
No need for a better food court - every meal I have at Disney is TS so food courts have no bearing on my stay.
Screaming children are going to be part of my vacation it's Disney for the love of... but we leave early (around 7am and don't get back until 10 or 11 so we don't spend a lot of time at the resort.
We take a car and I don't really mind how close or far something is to the parks if I was going to worry about that I'd scrape together the cash for a deluxe so I'd actually be close enough to matter.

So nope, I really only need to know how hard the bed is (and the pillow information will help me decide whether to bring something from home.)

AoA Family Suite Master Bedroom had a queen and it was the best sleep I ever got in at a Disney resort. Quiet room, firm bed - smushy pillows though.

French quarter is great queen beds which were comfortable not at all.hard. This is a quiet wonderful resort I feel best of the moderate resorts.

We always stay at POFQ and have never complained or had issues with the beds until our last visit in February. Neither of us were comfortable - they were stiff, they didn't give in at all when you laid on them.

Put this in a check for the AOA then, why pay more for a softer bed if the beds aren't softer? :)

Different people will have widely different opinions on mattress comfort, depending on their individual preferences. FWIW, I like a firm, but not hard mattress and found the ones at POFQ fit the bill perfectly. I have a bad back and always wake up sore if I sleep on a hard mattress- that never happened at POFQ. The pillows were definitely not hard- a little too squishy for me, but still comfortable.

Have you stayed at any of the values? It would be great if you could compare the two. :scratchin
