I just found out that AOA family suites have 2 bathrooms?!?!? Has anyone stayed, how’s the rooms?

For what it's worth, the ASMu family suites have two bathrooms too. If you decide to look up information, be sure you are looking at refurbished suites....they are very different from their previous version.

Love them. My wife sleeps poorly in the same room as the kids, so we usually shoot for larger accomodations, whether that's Family Suite, Ft. Wilderness Cabins, DVC villas, or just multiple "regular" rooms. My only advice would be to avoid the Nemo area. It's a zoo. Cars is much more peaceful.

We stayed in a Lion King room with my mom (60), who slept on the Murphy bed, DD6 who slept on the pull out couch, and DD2 who had a pack n play in the bed room (but would have had room on the couch). We loved it. Enough space and darkness/quiet for the little one to nap, bathrooms made mornings and pool time easy, being able to fold up the couch and bed gave the kids room to dance and play while we relaxed at night without destroying the room!

fwiw our walk from lion king to the food court wasn’t any longer than our friends from Nemo, the walk to the busses was faster! and I liked the theming better.

We stayed in Cars with 5 of us. My mother slept on the pull out, we had twins who were just under 2 yrs old in rented full size cribs with us in the bedroom. We loved it. We liked having the table for us all to eat at easily and not have to fold up. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if we couldn't get a villa. Having the extra bathroom is key (we like AKV-K 1 bedrooms for this reason too even if my mother doesn't come now that the twins are older). We stayed in Cars section and loved the location.

We stayed last week for the first time in. Nemo room and would classify it as “fine”. The pull down table bed was not too bad but I didn’t like not having a table unless I made the bed up, and having to clear the table before you could go to bed. However, it was easy to put up and down and wasn’t that bad overall. The pull out couch mattress was terrible, luckily my kids didn’t care. I didn’t like having to choose either a messy bed all day or Putting it away and messing with all of the cushions twice a day. But also not a huge deal. Two bathrooms was nice, but for us with 2 adults and 4 little kids not as nice as if it would be for more adults who didn’t need help getting ready and could do it independently. Overall I would stay at AOA again but didn’t fall in love with it. It was super expensive for being a value resort- we have paid a lot less for a Poly CL room before- granted before COVID but not all that long ago.

How well you like it, fit in the room will depend greatly on the ages of the people in the room.
All adults are not going to be nearly as happy there as a pair of adults along with some kids. The bed/table arrangement is not made for an adult. Nor is it very convenient to be a table. Constant up/down is tiresome.

As an adult, the rooms are "loud" but our 10 yo liked it.

Last week?? May I ask if the Flippin' Fins pool or the Cozy Cone pool was in refurb at the time, and if so, did it affect your experience at the resort?

I have a Cars suite booked for 3/19 - 3/21 but didn't do my homework very well and found out a couple days ago that Cozy Cone is due for refurb late Feb - April. My cousin is (or was? he's 17 now!) a huge Cars fan, and even though the room would be great, I'm guessing he'd be more impressed by the pool area. I got lucky and was able to make a reservation at FW cabins for the same dates (and exact same price, funnily enough)...I need to cancel one or the other in the next day or two. I was leaning towards cancelling AoA, but after taking a hard look at the cabins...well, two bathrooms and a table bed as opposed to one bathroom and a seemingly crib-like bunk?! I'm having trouble hitting cancel. Any insight would be super appreciated.

Yes, interesting that it's not very advertised! I didn't even know they had two bathrooms until I saw the title of your thread last week. :upsidedow (I usually do more research, I promise, this is just a very unusual last-minute-ish trip!)

I wouldn’t cancel a car suite for a cars lover just because of the pool. When we went the cars pool was closed and we still had a very fun time wandering around taking pictures with all the car statues. The pool is essentially just a small circle surrounded by traffic cones. It was fun to go and look at for a few minutes but I wouldn’t feel like you were missing anything by not being able to hang out there. Especially for your travel dates when you are I assume not planning several days of pool time

We love AOA suites, we've stayed three times. When we brought our moms along with us. It is a hopping (very busy) resort of course because you have a lot of families. But it's a lot of fun and we will remember our stays there fondly.
