AoA - does it make you want to stay value?

I have never stayed value - I have nothing against it, just never needed to. I would though and would like to. When I saw AoA open I was just amazed! It really opened my eyes. I know it is considered a deluxe value, but still! It is just gorgeous.

SO my question is whether you always deluxe or otherwise, does it make you want to stay there?

I'll admit that yes, it does make us want to stay at a value. My DD's favorite princess is Ariel and we really want to do the Ariel section for her.

Typically I'd go for a deluxe hotel or a mod in the building closest to the lobby. But with this new hotel, we'll do value and the buildings that are probably farthest from the lobby!

Not in the slightest. It still has small rooms with only double beds (and/or pullouts) that look uncomfortable. And it still has garish theming. Still doesn't have TS dining? Aside from it being new, it has no pull for me whatsoever. Different strokes yadda, yadda.

Yes! And I did, for five nights and, after the second night, I wanted to LEAVE! After the wow-factor wears off, you realize you are staying in a value with value amenities, value buses, value food court, etc. Never again. Sorry value lovers - just didn't like it. There is a reason I like deluxe resorts. AoA is a value, all the way.

Just got back from YC CL two weeks ago - loved all of the amenities, distance to parks, various recreation and dining options. Would never stay at AoA again.

Yeah kinda, it's the only Value that has remotely appealing themeing to me, TLM is my absolute favourite Disney film, and the Big Blue Pool looks brilliant. I may give it a go for a few nights next year, if I can't get availability at an AKL dvc studio (AKL is our 'home' <3)

We have always stayed at moderates and love them. We could stay at a deluxe but I just can't justify the extra expense considering that we spend most of the time away from the resort. I would certainly stay at a value because as I said before we spent so little time at the resort. AOA does look like fun.

Not even a little. It's not that I wouldn't stay value, I am just not crazy about the theming. It's a little loud for my taste.

Yep! We've stayed in rooms all across the board, but for our next trip I am having a hard time deciding where to stay - the LM rooms at AoA or elsewhere? I love The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo is one of my favorites, so naturally this resort interests me. Is it over the top? Yes, of course, but sometimes that is part of the fun!

I'll stay there as long as there's a good room discount, otherwise, I think I would much rather stay at POP. I can just stroll across the bridge and just walk around the ground there and have a bite at their food court.

I saw your other thread inquiring about moderate resort pool slide. All value resorts has no pool slide, just in case if this is something important to you. :)

OK. There were def mixed reviews. I do agree a value is a value and I do wish since some tend to call AoA a "deluxe value" that at least one of the pools had a slide. I know he big blue pool has its own special features - but maybe thay should put a slide into the cozy cone or the LM pool coming.

IN my opinion, I would stay there. It does seem more appealing to me then the other values, so I would probably stay here first. Also, a lot of ppl seem to be staying there, so it must appeal to others also! :)

Thanks for the feedback though everyone! :)

I can't say that I would be interested in staying there. I could probably stay at the Swan/Dolphin with a nurse's or AAA discount for almost the same price.

Yes! I have yet to be convinced otherwise. Since it looks fabulous, new & adorable. I can't wait to stay. I have stayed at both BC & YC in the past. I am always known as the Deluxe girl in my family. It looks wonderful.

We started out at Values with our first trip in 2004 and DD was 7. ASMo and Mu and Pop were fantastic. Then we tried a few moderates and loved the extra space and queen beds at CSR. This past August we tried AKL and our first Delux. OMG how wonderful to have a balcony!
I would have booked AoA in a heart beat if the rooms had been opened. We didn't need a suite and the rooms were not yet open when we went.
So during our WDW visit I wanted to check out AoA. DH agreed and the three of us spent about hour walking arouud... it was stunning, colourful, dramatic and much to my surprise.... not for us!:rolleyes2 Like DD, I think our family grew up and grew up in to a more quiet, resort like type of hotel.
