Day Three The One with the E-Ride Night
Im woken up with a call from hubby about 7.30am. We chat for awhile then Im by the pool by 8am. There were only 2 others in the pool. I swam for about half an hour so I showered than headed to the food court for breakfast. I had the breakfast bagel which is a yummy bagel filled with scrambled egg, sausage and cheese. Yum! I then got the bus to Downtown Disney which first stopped at Typhoon Lagoon. It was only 9.30 and the car park was heaving.
Downtown Disney Marketplace was very empty. I love the shops at Marketplace. First stop is the Wonderful World of Memories so I could send the postcards back home. It cost me $2.90 to send 3 regular postcards and one big one to hubby. Ill probably beat the postcards home but at least I sent some.
Next stop, the Christmas shop.
I found a box of 4 dog characters to hang on the tree and a box of 4 cat ones. I was pleased to find them on sale at $8.99 instead of $18.00 each so I basically got 2 for the price of 1 bargain! I had to go into the new Disney Tails shop.
I must admit it gave me a good giggle, seeing some of the outfits they had for the dogs. My favourite was a Buzz Lightyear outfit. I took a photo of it for hubby as I knew hed find it hard to believe.
The best thing though was a bandana but Ill talk about that later.
Anyway, next stop was the World of Disney, Team Mickey and the pin shop. I fell in love with an Aladdin lanyard which said available for the first time on DVD on the collar. It came free when you pre-ordered the DVD but unfortunately you can only pre-order the DVD if you live in the USA. Its a shame because I really loved it. I was going to buy another instead. Note: since coming back home, I have since found it on Ebay and have now bought one so Im a very happy bunny.
I looked at the pin books and carry cases for them. I ended up with 4 new pins a limited edition Tower of Tower 10 Year anniversary, Spectromagic, another Pop Century pin and an Annual Passholder pin that I had to show my pass for.
By 12, I was hungry so I decided to get lunch at the Earl of Sandwich.
I had the Frenchy, a hot sandwich filled with melted brie and ham. It was delicious. I also had a hawaiian strawberry and banana smoothie this was my best smoothie ever! It cost me just over $10 for lunch. They have a shop inside too and I found a few limited edition pins to celebrate the opening. I found a Mini car pin with the UK flag on the roof with Walt Disney World and Early of Sandwich written on it so I treated myself.
Next I popped into Disney at Home and bought a Mickey soap dish, 2 Mickey shaped candles and matching holders for just under $20.
I also went into Once Upon a Toy to have a look at the monorail. Hubby had never seen it so I wanted to take some photos of it for him.
By now, my feet were aching so I walked back to the bus stop. It was another hot and sticky day.
As the bus pulled into the front of Pop Century, we could all see very thick black smoke spiraling up into the air and wondered what it was. We didnt have long to find out a car was on fire in the check-in section of the car park. And it wasnt just a little fire either, it had practically engulfed the whole car. The doors were open so there must have been people in it when the fire started but we couldnt see anyone. The cars parked beside were being moved for safety reasons and the fire truck turned up. I never found out what happened but it wasnt very pleasant to see that mustve really ruined someones holiday! I just hope the passengers had gotten out safely!
