Anywhere You have Eaten That You Know You Won't Go Back?

Prime time - overpriced, NOISY, long wait even with a PS and cheesy atmosphere - never again!

I would like to know if it was 1. atmosphere, 2. service, 3. food or 4. value that was the problem.
For instance Artist Point had good 1, 2 and 3 but was too expensive for what you got. Alfredo’s had good 1, 3 and 4 but obnoxious service. Rose and crown had good 1, 2 and 4 but horrible food. Will not go back.

Sci-Fi:
1. Atmosphere - great!
2. Service - wonderful!
3. Food - ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!!!!!
4. Value - See #3

Planet Hollywood:
1. Atmosphere - ok
2. Service - terrible, slow, rude, pushy, I could go on, but...
3. Food - passable
4. Value - not as over-priced as some Disney-run places

We have not been back to either since 1998, so things may have improved. If Sci-Fi could have served us ONE decent meal (we tried 3 times), I would go back, but the food was just plain AWFUL!!! Our experience with the service at PH was so bad on almost every level. Food and atmosphere not good enough to warrant a return. Plus, we have one here in town, so it's skippable for us.

Never, never, never will we eat at Hollywood and Vine again-ICK!!!!!!

Not crazy about Yakitori House in Japan, either.

And...(no one blast me, please) Cindy's-just not impressed with breakfast or the character interaction

Alfredo's - the worst meal I ever had and not cheap either
Planet Hollywood - food okay - service terrible
Rainforest Cafe - food not so hot.....ambience...annoying after awhile especially when waaaiitttinnnnggg for lunch

Sci-Fi will never return.

H & V yucky breakfast.

The all-time worst fast-food American Adventure, even when your starving this food is disgusting.

1. Nine Dragons. It would be nice if the restaurant served food other than the Americanized pedestrian psuedo-Chinese food that you can get in any city in this country. On top of that, they charge $18-$20 for the likes of Moo Gu Gai Pan or Kung Pao Chicken!

2. Coral Reef - portion size and prices. Grilled Mahi for $27. Guess it's the view you are paying for. Carry a Filet-o-fish into the Living Seas and save yourself $25.

3. Tony's. (Other than the very good breakfasts they used to serve) Enough has been said about Tony's in this thread.

4. Sci-Fi. Food quality does not match price. Again, unique view does not justify.

5. Liberty Inn - mostly because I've always been disappointed that a full service restaurant featuring unique American dishes was not included in the pavillion. I suppose Cheeseburgers and Hot Dogs are fairly representative of American food, but it's a bit embarrassing.

That's the extent of the "won't do anymores." There's plenty of places we just don't go to, but I think the above quantifies the ones we are sure to never do again.

So as not to be entirely negative - I'll throw in my "won't misses":

1. Akershus. It's taken a bit of a bad rap here in this thread, but I find it to be fantastic. I'm a very adventuresome eater and love flavors not generally found in other cuisines.

2. Boma. Rapidly becoming my favorite restaurant on property. Mostly for the same reasons I love Akershus.

3. I'll include a counter service spot and throw in Yakatori House. The Tempura Udon is well done, as are any of the Yaki's. Throw a Cal-maki roll on the side and you've got a very satisfying counter service meal. Also, the outdoor setting is rather nice.

Went to the Rainforest Cafe here in Va. and don't have any desire to go again either here or at WDW.

I have been pretty lucky thus far.. but I would have to give a big Ewwwwww to the lunch we had in the Columbia House at MK.

On the positive side.... we loved Boma at AKL, Donald's Restaurantasaurus at DAK, CRT in MK, Crystal Palace in MK, The Cafe Restaurant in GF & Mama Melroses at DS.

Happy Eating!

>>^..^<<

For those of you who chose Le Cellier... could you please tell me why? We have a PS there in a couple of weeks (w/ the in-laws) and we were figuring for DH, DS, and myself it was going to be over $120. If it's going to be a bad experience we'll let the inlaws go w/out us. (FIL says this is a must...but he forgets this is our vacation too ;) ) Thanks for any help!

Tony's was AWFUL. Chef Mickeys was worse (but the characters were fun) I agree with those that said the food at CRT was pretty bad, but with two girls, I am going yet again.

Maude, I like La Cellier. If you don't think you want a full meal, the cheddar cheese soup with the pretzel breadksticks and maybe another appetizer, like the shrimp cocktail, are worth the visit. The beef is not cheap, but very tender and tasty. I would go, check out the menu, check out other peoples plates as you walk by :) and then have the soup.

Sometimes it helps to jut form your own opinion.

rweTHEREyet, it's not that I mind paying that much (not that I want to...) but if it isn't any good, I think I'd be a bit upset about it. I guess DH and I could always share and order an extra side dish or two. I think we'll be playing it by ear. Thanks for the help.

ps...and as much as we've heard about the soup...that's a must do for DH:)

Good thread...very entertaining!
For us, it's Whispering Canyon. After our second visit there last year we realized the only reason we even THOUGHT we liked it enough to return was the beautiful, stunning, not-to-be-missed lobby at Wilderness Lodge!

Maude--we love Le Cellier too. Have always had delicious food and very good service. I hope you have a great experience too.

Maude, to look at it another way, our meal at Brown Derby was good, food tasty, beef tender, etc., however, I did not feel that what I paid for that meal was fair. I was not inferring you may be cheap, but there is such a thing as overpriced. I felt that La Cellier was pricey too, but the meal was worth the price.

In addition, our meal at Ohana was pricey, but I will go back there in a heartbeat.

Hope this helps some, too.

Chef Mickey's for dinner. Thought the food was not good at all, even the kids wouldn't eat off the kids area, they didn't like anything they tasted and they aren't picky eaters.

Don't know if we would return to Brown Derby either. Food was good but this is one meal where I thought that the food vs price was not worth it. I usually don't find this at Disney but Brown Derby was the exception.
