Not sure if this is an appropriate place to post this question, but here goes. I would like to check my email once or twice while at SSR in mid-Oct. We are closing on a new house Oct 25 and hate to be away from email for that long. Any suggestions?

There is a business center in the Contemporary, but I would call ahead of time and make sure they are open. The hours are really weird. Or, if you have one, a laptop would be an alternative. :)

I think the business center hours at the Contemporary is 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, however since they had the free internet in the rooms I have not gone there. I do know the cost to using the internet there is $10.00 for every 15 minutes you're online, however a few times when I was down there I was on for less then 15 minutes and they told me there would be to charge.

If you have dial-up access, they no longer charge for local calls from the room. I was able to plug my laptop into the data port on the phone, and check email, without paying anything extra. If you need the ability to print anything though, you will need to go to one of the business centers. There is usually a business center attached to the resorts that have convention centers (CR, CSR, Y/BC, GF). If you have a car, there's a Kinko's on 535, about a mile north of the Hotel Plaza Blvd. intersection, where you can also access the Internet and print anything that you need to.

we usually walk over to the CR business center on our MK day to check the emails - very convenient

That's obscene. It reminds me of the joy I felt when I discovered that my 1-minute call to Canada from my room cost me $15.
$15 for a 1 minute call. After reading that it makes me happy that I always get the Connect Florida plan from Bell on my cell phone.

I should've just used my cell phone, but I had no idea it would be so expensive to call from the room. I didn't want to make a fuss over it while on our vacation, but I e-mailed Disney when I returned. They agreed that the pricing should've been posted and offered a refund, but I'm curious to know if they explicitly post their pricing in the rooms now. I'm willing to bet they don't.

Sorry for going off-topic. :P

Unless I am wrong, I thought that I saw a thing by the phone which said the cost for making phone calls.
