at WDW during the first three months of next year?

We are thinking of visiting March 2017. We are DVC members and the first four months of this year are almost fully booked with only an odd day or two available. So I was wondering how I might find out what is going on during January, February and March?

Are you looking at booking a regular room, or a DVC room?

As of today's date, Members can only book a reservation at their home resort with a check in date on or before January 11th, 2017, and at any resort with a check in date on or before September 11th, 2016.

When I try to look at regular rooms online, I can't pull up a check-in date past the end of 2016, so they may not have released the rooms for next year yet.

At this point, all DVC resort should be almost completely booked up for the first 4 months of 2016...we're already halfway through those months! DVC is designed to run at nearly 100% occupancy all year. That's why you're seeing almost every date booked right now.

The Disney website has a "things to do" tab. If you choose special events, you can see a list of activities that go on throughout the year. Offhand, I would say that January has Marathon Weekend. February doesn't have specific events but President's Weekend tends to book up faster than other weekends. Some spring breaks also begin toward the end of Feb. March and April are Flower & Garden and Easter. The Star Wars Marathon is being held in April.

Easter is March 29 this year. Next year it is April 16. That may help open up March a little. but it is spring break so you probably should plan on not waiting too late to book a room.

Are you looking just at DVC community or are you looking at central FL?

I should have said, sorry - I am looking for dates to avoid in relation to stuff in WDW, like sports tournaments, etc.

Pop Warner is early January. Spring break is March. Mardi Gras is February.

And Easter this year is the 27th not 29th.

January has the marathon weekend, February has the Princess half marathon weekend.

There's all sorts of stuff that brings people to WDW.

The Princess Half Marathon Weekend is in February.

Maybe all of January, when you don't have the marathon it's prime South American tour group season.

And the week after Presidents Day.

March is wide open with Easter being so late, you may want to do some research on youth cheer/dance tournaments.
