I hope to walk a reservation and will need to borrow points to do so. Is there a way to borrow the points ahead of time so that when I try to set up the reservation I won't lose time with borrowing points? Thanks !

As I understand it once you've selected an actual room it holds it for you while you finishing the booking. This is not the search where it shows you options but once you select one of those options. And there's no need to borrow ahead of time as you would just be swapping from saying to borrow points as a check mark or to applying a check mark to use the points already borrowed. Borrowing is different than banking - banking happens outside of the booking procedure but borrowing happens within it.

Since you say you only need to borrow the points to walk the reservation, I just wanted to make sure you understand that the borrowed points cannot be returned to the original UY. I wasn't sure that your final reservation will use up all of the borrowed points.

From the Home Resort Rules and Regulations

II. 5. b. Borrowing Home Resort Vacation Points.

2) Once Borrowed, Home Resort Vacation Points cannot be returned to their original Use Year and will expire if not used by the end of the Use Year into which they were Borrowed . . .

Once you make your room selection and select you will have 20 minutes to finish your ressie before it goes back into the inventory.
At the end of your booking you will have a chance to cancel but I don't know if the points you borrowed for-this ressie will remain with you or will go back to the year you borrowed from since you didn't finish the ressie booking.

Wow, I hope you know what I said.:cool1:
