Anything you still haven't done???

We are new to DVC and haven't even made our first trip yet. Still, I was wondering about you long-time DVCers.

Are there things that you have never done at WDW (or other DVC stops) that you still hope to do on a future trip? Or have you pretty much 'been there, done that'? Any recent surprises?

I sure hope this DVC thing never gets old. So far, I'm totally enthused!

There are a few things we chose not to do, but usually see and do most of it each trip. We try to find one new thing each time. This year it was the character dinner at 1900 Park Fair. Last year it was the behind the scenes tour of Animal Kingdom.

I have not yet won 1,000,000 points at Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and consequently, have not received the grand prize Disney Cruise. I'll keep trying.

I've done everything else and hope to keep doing it for the rest of my life.

It's funny you started this thread. I've been keeping a "next time" list for a while now. It seems to grow instead of shrink as Dis adds parades, etc. I have found that the resorts are offering some fun things. Some are not long or spectacular but are pretty need. (My niece learned to lasso in the BW lobby last trip).

Here is my current list:
- High Tea at the GF
- Lady bug release
-VWL Story tellers
- Poly torch lighting
- FW Marshmellow roast

I always wanted to do Tower of Terror, but never did due to fear, lol. Last week though, I did it! It was a piece of cake!

That's the best part of DVC though and I learned it this past trip. You don't have to feel like if I don't do it now, I'll never get back here to do it. My vacation last week was so much more relaxed. I'll get to it next time is a great attitude to have now!

Next on my list? Hmmm...Victoria and Albert's some day. No time soon though. The thought of dressing up in the humid and hot weather makes me ill, lol.

We have been members for only 3 years, so we have stuck to the parks and some of the other "big" things.

But there is a ton of different things we want to do. Staying at each DVC resort (2 down, 4+ to go), doing behind the scene's tours, visiting each resort on property, trying different restaurants, seeing shows, horse back riding, disneyquest, etc.

The list is so long I don't think it will ever end. That is why we are DVC memebers, something different every time within the Disney vacation.

This is not even mentioning our kids lists, family list, friends list....................

What an interesting and thought provoking question with so many different answers. So, here's mine.

First, I bet that the answers depend on each DVC member's unique circumstances. For example, we are 50 year old empty nesters so things that appeal to us we can do without fear of thwarting anyone else's plans. Someone mentioned touring the other Disney resorts. We love to tour the other resorts and did so even before we became DVC members. One of our favorite things to do is to have a late lunch or early dinner at one of the Grand Floridian restaurants and then we like to get a drink sit in the lobby and listen to the piano player and then the orchestra. I can't remember when the they start playing but it's around 4 pm for the piano player and sometime after that for the orchestra.

The nice thing about resort hopping is that it really doesn't have to cost you a penny and you get the opportunity to see a little bit of what the other places on property are like.

I coud go on, but I'm sure others have much more interesting items to contribute.

In 5 trips, we still have quite a 'Todo' list:

DVC:

- Still need to try OKW, BWV, HH and Vero (this summer!)

Cruise:

- Won't take our Disney Cruise until 2004.

Parks:

MK:

- Tom Sawyer Island and River Boat Ride
- Hall of Presidents
- never ridden the trolley car
- Missed out on Horseshoe Review (gone now)
- Several Tours and MANY stores and restaurants.

Epcot:

- Making of me
- Mission Space (can't wait for this one to open!)
- Movies in Canada, China or Norway
- Meals in MOST of the restaurants

Studios:

- Indy Show
- Backlot tour
- Many Restaurants, stores.

AK:

- Tarzan show
- Devine (can't seem to find her...)
- Many restaurants, stores.

Other WDW:


- SO many resort restaurants to still try.
- Kids want to try Adventures in Cooking and Pirate Cruise at GF.
- Blizzard Beach (we have snow all winter - like the tropical feel of TL ... but someday)
- We have never tried any of the miniture golf courses.
- Never been to the Sports Complex
- Never been to Pleasure Island, Disney Quest, Cirque Du Soleil, many of the Restaurants and stores.
- Still have most of the Boardwalk attractions to visit
- We haven't pool hopped ANYWHERE yet!
- Haven't explored many of the resorts, including Fort Wilderness.
- Never made it to River Country (too late now...)

Orlando in general:

- We have ONLY done Universal -
- ALL the Orlando restaurants, shows, stores, outlets, etc.
- Looking forward to Seaworld and Discovery Cove sometime.

Both east and west coast of Florida within easy reach!

It will take MANY years to 'finish' this list - not to mention all the new stuff that will be added, and repeating all our favorites!

a lack of things to do is not a concern for us! Fitting in everything we want to do is!

Still haven't hit the water parks, Universal, Sea World. Still haven't played golf, gone to Victoria and Alberts (among other restaurants) still havent played mini-golf, done Millionaire, Little Mermaid, Backlot Tour, TomSawyer, the Riverboat, Rafiki's ride in AK, geeze the list goes on and on. Better go 15 or 20 more times.

We haven't been on our first DVC trip yet, but last year was our first trip with children. It was such a different experience! Next time they go, they will both be a little older - and it will be different yet again. So we are kind of figuring until our kids go to college (15 years) every trip will be filled with never dones.

We are empty nesters, too, who just can't seem to keep the babies away from our trips! We have only had one trip without kids, and they are 25 years old! We have been trying ever since that first trip to do a trip alone, but our kids think we won't know what to do without them--how do they think they got here in the first place?

We want to try the carriage ride at Fort Wilderness Campground. After 30 years of going to Disney, we find we like to do the "other" things that are available there. And eat, of course. That's my favorite part of all

Almost empty-nesters here (20 yr old DD still at home). When we go with extended family, it's typical Disney but even that varies depending on ages.

When it's just DH and I, we change things around a bit. Upcoming May vacation, we will be taking the behind-the-scenes morning Animal Kingdom tour and also going to the DD movies one night. Last trip in January it was Cirque du Soleil (sp?) and one night at ESPN Club for supper and drinks to watch UConn basketball. Trip before that in March of 2002, Atlanta Braves baseball game.

There's just so much to do and things vary so much depending on the time of the year and who you are traveling with!

Another plan for upcoming trip - we are going to hunt for and photograph all the Hidden Mickeys we can find (gotta love that digital camera!) and hopefully have enough for a photo album!

We have beeen 4 times to WDW, last trip on DVC pts first trip home. This cant relate a lot to long time DVCers but we made a 10 day trip in Oct 01 and thought we would see it all. Granted we covered the 4 main parks pretty well, but we still havent been to any of the waterparks or Golf Courses or miniature golf or Disneyquest or Wide world of sports or.................the list keeps goin and goin and..........just like the energizer bunny. We have 40 more yrs to try to get it all in but I honestly dont think we can ever see and do it all, but think of alln the fun we will have tryin!!

We've done most everything in the parks and just go back to the parks to do our favorite things now. But there are a few restaurants that we still mean to get to. Outside the parks we have hit most everything that interest us too. We've done the waterparks, miniature golf, watermice, movies at DD, Disney Quest, spa at GF, fireworks cruises, PI, Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance, we've even taken a tour of the homes at Celebrations. But that doesn't mean that we are bored at WDW. Most things are so fun that you definitely don't mind doing them again. Our next trip is going to be dedicated to relaxation and hitting a number of the restaurants that we haven't tried yet. We also are thinking about doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We haven't done but a couple of the tours so far. And then it is off to our very first cruise!

I can't wait to try some of these things!

Our to do list includes:

1. Renting boats/bikes and touring around the Seven Seas Lagoon - NEXT TRIP!

2. Staying at all the DVC resorts and all the WDW resorts (we split our stays)

3. Trying at least one new sit-down restaurant each trip

4. Someday doing a behind the scenes tour

5. Trying a water park (now that I've lost 60 lbs, this is feasible)

Here is some of the DVC things we haven't done, but are on our list.

- Vero, or HHI side trip
- BCV. As BWV owners, not sure when we'll hear the calling of SAB).
- Big 'ol hot lazy summer by the pool ( 14+nights at 1 resort).
- New York, The Plaza... I've got this trip all planned out. I just need figure out when?
- Disneyland Tokyo (No interest in Paris. Not sure why).
- Trip without kids (We're about 5-7 years before we can get away with this one though).
- Christmas or New Years (Thanksgiving is already a tradition).
- Spring Training. (Although I can stand the Braves so this is not very high on my list).
- Grand Villa family reunion.

Cruella, you've dashed my hopes. One of our "never dones" is a trip for the Food & Wine Festival, staying at BCV. I whisper about it to my DH, perhaps we can do it when DD goes to college. Now I know I'm dreaming. She'll find a way to go with us, I'm sure. Diana
