My husband and I are BIG walkers. We plop the kids in the stroller/carrier and can go for a couple of miles without concern. Is there anything within walking distance of WBC? Sidewalks are obviously important as I don't like pushing the stroller in the street with traffic. If there isn't anything then we will bring a single stroller. If there are some things we can get to we will bring the double. The double is much easier for long walks.

Unfortunately, no, not really.

This resort is on Disney property, and as such, things are a little spread out, and there's only Disney stuff around.

That said, Its a couple(?) of miles to get to the Epcot entrance. There are sidewalks as I recall, so its at least possible to do.

And that means you're also (relatively) close to the Studios and the Boardwalk. Downtown Disney is a little longer.

I recommend looking at google maps to see what the conditions / distances look like.

There is a nice walking path that takes you to the Hilton and Waldorf hotels and out to Lake Buena Vista Blvd.

Once you get to Lake Buena Vista Blvd, you have to turn around because there are no sidewalks in this area of Disney property.

The Caribbean Beach resort is so close you could throw a rock and hit some cars in the parking lot, but "you can't get there from here" because of a fence.

If you are concerned you won't get enough walking in, don't worry, there is plenty to be had at the parks. The Epcot area is a walker's paradise.

WBC has a nice walkway around the lake in the center of the resort. The loop is 2/3 mile. Lots of walkers and runners, especially in the morning. My son was able to get his 5-6 mile daily run in by doing loops on this path in the morning.

There's a sidewalk/walking path outside of the resort that runs along Chelonia Parkway between Lake Buena Vista Drive and the Hilton/Waldorf hotels. I'm not sure what the distance is - but it looks like a good long walk. A double wide stroller would work on this path.

You can catch a bus to Downtown Disney, walk around there, take in the sights and people watch all at the same time.

As others have said, the only "destination" you can really walk to is the Waldorf/Hilton which is just down the street from the Wyndham resort. They have a couple restaurants, a golf course, and i'm betting it would at least be worth taking a look around if you were into that sort of thing.

Beyond that, while there are several places that might technically be within walking distance, They are NOT pedestrian friendly at all. Chelonia Parkway only has the 3 resorts/hotels currently, and only 1 outlet onto LBV Parkway which does not have any sidewalks and due to the amount of traffic does not really make itself friendly to even side-of-the-road pedestrian traffic.

Thanks everyone...!!! Guess we'll be doing the WBC circuit!!! We don't mind. It just helps to decide which stroller to bring.
