Anything special I can arrange for my mom?

My family has been through a really hard year. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer in Sept 2008 and passed away in April 2009. My family went to DL all together one last time about 3 weeks before he died, and he loved every second of it!

Well, my Mom and my youngest sister and I are going to DL next week, and it will be bittersweet because we were just there with him. Does anyone know of anything special(and low cost) that I could arrange to do for my Mom, or that the park could do?

Not really a low cost thing and it wouldn't be ready for your trip - but what about one of the bricks between DCA and DL. You could maybe do one to honor your Dad or your last trip together. It could be a tangible thing to hold onto and remember how happy your Dad was there. The last time I checked out the bricks they were about $250, but maybe if you and your sibs could share the cost??? Really sorry about the loss of your Dad. I hope your trip brings back some really happy memories for all of you.

I just ordered a paver at disneyland with our families name and it was 150 for it right now because of a special, however they said it would not be placed until November sometime. Sorry for your loss and I hope you have a great time.

Do you have the site/url for where I can order the paver from? I've been searching but without too much luck.

I agree that a paver is a great way to honor him and it will make all your future trips that more special.

I came upon this information from another forum:

Current cost is $150 (less PAP discount, if you have one). The replicas, which are optional, are $35. You can order by phone if you're using a credit card; alternatively, you can order by fax or mail. The telephone number for information is (800) 760-3566. E-mail address is dl.bricks@disney.com. They will e-mail you a copy of the brochure if you request one.

lotzasunshine my mom died of cancer about 2 weeks before we went December 08. For me and my family it was an awsome experienceof being able to be happy for just a little bit. I would suggest making your dad part of it. Go on his favorite rides and talk about the fun and the joy you were all able to have togehter. You can still take him with you and it will be a great opportunity to remember and talk of a happy time and help each other heal. You could even take a picture of your dad from the last trip or make your mom a scrapbook with pics and stories of the last trip. Just let Disneyland wash away the sorrow while you are there. It's good at that. ;)

I was going to mention purchasing a brick as well so the next time you go (After this trip) your dads memory will be there. You can get your mom to help pick out the logo and the words to engrave on it. The bricks cost $150 I recently purchased one.

I was also going to say if you got her even a massage at the spa at the Grand Californian so she can have a bit of a relaxation moment.
