Anything special going on 1st week of Dec

I have booked a trip for the 3rd thru the 10th of December and have noticed that all new discounts are excluding that week. I have also found rooms at the deluxe level are going fast... Does anyone know of something special going on that week besides the usual Christmas stuff... Thanks

That is the week of Mousefest where a lot of online communties such as the Disboards and Passporter online community as well as a bunch of others get together and have mega meets. They have a big meet at the swan on the saturday around the 9th or so and they meet in the parks as well. I also believe Pop Warner is the first week in December its either cheerleading or football can't remember which and they cause a lot of rooms to book up as well especially at the value resorts.

I avoided that week and went a week later.

Let's see...the Disney Christmas Parade is taped the first Fri/Sat in Dec, the Pop Warner kids are in town that first week in Dec, MouseFest, Land portion begins on Dec 7, with meets going on for the next 3 or so days. It's a very popular time with a lot of people. See you there!!

We are going around the same time. The main thing they have going on is the Pop Warner championships. What I have heard about this group is they mainly are at football practice during the days so they don't have a big effect on the parks. Don't know so much about the evening though. Now if you are staying at one of the value resorts they are supposed to be very crowded at eating times. Also the buses at these are crowded also. This info comes from some people who were there last year during the same event. They said the parks were not bad at all. Initially the discount was offered for those dates because people were able to get them. They are filming the parade the weekend of the 2nd, I hear that MK is crowded along main street because there are movie stars there but the rest of the park is just fine. I think I was feeling the same way as you but the members I have corresponded w/ have eased my worries. I think we will be just fine.

We went that first week in Dec. 2 years ago and didn't run into heavy crowds at all.. never had a problem with the cheerleaders either. We're going back again this year at the same time!

I believe the Pop Werner group(football players) has been there the last two years. So I don't believe we have anything to worry about.
