Hi, just wondered if anyone has been to Le Cellier recently and have anything positive to say about it?

We have an ADR in June but have only seen bad reviews in the past few months, I'm really just thinking of cancelling but DH is of the opinion that everyone has different tastes, experiences etc & we should just keep the ADR. I partly agree with him but then again if the majority are saying its bad then i think theres a good chance it will bad for us too :confused3
We don't mind the menu changes as its our 1st time there anyway.

Opinions and experiences appreciated, thanks :thumbsup2

we returned the end of january. LeCeliar was the best service we had on our trip. I am not one to do this but we called over the manager to the table to brag on our service. We went to Ohanas the first night. We had to wait an hour past our adr. Since we did not put a credit card on our rm key the waiter wanted to know how we were going to pay for his services before he even took our drink orders. Well I could go on about bad service we rec'd this trip. But the food at LeCeliar was great.. We will definately go back in the future..

I'm not sure if you are seeing bad reviews or people just saying it doesn't live up to the hype it receives. We like it there- we don't love it... it's fine but not a must have ADR. The food is good, service has always been good- it is a bit crowded IMO but then again so are many of the restaurants in Disney.

the cheddar cheese soup is great, and i never had a filet i didn't like there!

We had lunch there on Easter Sunday. It wasn't planned. I just walked up to the two guys at the top of the walkway and asked why they were stuck out in the sun when Le Cellier was booked solid till the end of time. They laughed, and asked if we had eaten yet, as they were taking walk ups. It was 2 PM, and breakfast was fairly early, so we gave it a try.

We had been there before, but not for a long while.

The atmosphere is pretty, and the spiel about the sections of the restaurant are the different sections of Canada is somewhat interesting - at least the first time you hear it. After hearing it three more times for nearby tables, it had no charm left.

The bread sticks are good, and DH really enjoyed his cheddar cheese soup. We both ordered the shaved prime rib sandwich with cheddar cheese. Not a particularly good idea. It turned out to be a bad Philly cheese steak on a really odd roll. I wasn't expecting hot meat and melted cheese. The bread/roll seemed to be greasy inside (as though they put it on the grill) and flour covered outside. The fries were okay.

I was glad we had taken a chance, and might go back again, but I don't think it's worth the heroics needed to get an ADR.

Not to hijack the thread, but later that week we had really good bacon cheeseburgers and fries at the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. Much, much better than the prime rib sandwich at Le Cellier.

Give it a try. Just don't let it ruin your day if it isn't a spectacular experience.

My opinion is that it really depends on what you order to eat. Personally, we love the mushroom filet mignon which is only served on the dinner menu, and I believe that is LeCellier's signature dish. It is usually our best meal in Disney. We have tried other meals at LeCellier and they are just "okay" to us. So if we can't get a dinner ADR for the mushroom filet, then we don't bother eating there.
:)

I have always thought that le Cellier was a little overrated. I have always seen it rated as the best or close to the best place in WS. I like it but don't love it.

Its a family fave! I love the cheese soup and the pasta! Im not a big steak eater so Im not impressed with that, I like the atmosphere too. I love the maple creme brulee its my fave!

Went end of January, service was great, appetizers were fantastic (the chicken sausage is to die for if you like spicy food), then came the mushroom filet. It was okay, at best. Honestly not the best or even the most mediocre steak I've had in a long time. Kind of a disappointing end to the meal.

I liked the steak salad I had in November, and it's still on the menu. It's different (and better) than the previous steak salad.

other than the fact thtat i just learned my favorite thing has been taken off the menu, i LOVE, LOVE LOVE le cellier... considering there is ALWAYS a 6 month advance and you can barely get a reservation, i would say its worth it... we tried for a while to get in, finally did and loved every second! the pretzel break and soup are amazing!! and the filets are AWESOME!
true everyone is diff so i would just try it out to see for yourself but w/ how busy it is and how you can never get in, i would say the good review outweigh the bad
