I for one have a huge problem with being served food that I've stated I do not want. If I cannot eat it or do not want to eat it, who are you to decide to serve it anyways?
If I decide that I do not want my teenager to have the dessert that you've offered (for whatever reason, really none of anyone's business, ya think?), who are you to decide to serve it anyways?
If I decide that that our main meal will be plenty without an appetizer or we've decided to have dessert rather than an appetizer tonight, who are you to decide to serve it anyways?
I find it offensive that so much food would be thrown away when it was not asked for to begin with. Even at buffets I INSIST that my children only take a bite of things they are not sure of and then go back for more -- they are welcome to eat as much as they want, whether buffet or otherwise, but they need to eat what they take or order. We do not throw food away!
And before anyone throws flames, I'm not talking about leaving a bite of food or being served what I consider huge portions and not finishing them, I mean being aware that there are others that have no dinner tonight.
