Anything going on in the Disneyland area in feb/marts 2013???

Hi everyone

I'm planning a trip to DL in feb/marts 2013. We are looking for a superior/moderate hotel off site but walking distance to the parks, but on the Disneyland website it looks like most of the hotels are sold out, so I'm wondering if there is some kind of event or something in the area at that time???

I'm also having trouble getting any available rooms later in 2013. Is it because some hotels haven't released their rooms yet???

Which hotels are you checking with? We are hoping to go the last week of February and want to stay at the GC. I haven't called yet to book a room but thinking maybe I better.

I'm looking at some of the superior and moderate good-neighbor hotels in walking distance to DLR. But I can only book the Anaheim Merriott Hotel. Then I looked at Candy Cane inn at Tripadvisor, but that was sold out as well.

I am also interested in what "huge convention" it is and what the dates are. We are in the process of planning a Feb 2013 vacation from the 11th-15th.

The week of presidents day is a lot of schools "ski week/mid-winter break" here in Northern California. A lot of us head down south to DL...that could be part of it....

UBM Canon puts up a big trade show every February at the Anaheim convention center. The dates for 2013 are 2/11 - 2/14, with an estimated 20000+ attendees.

My birthday trips to DLR always coincide with this conference - the parks are in no way mobbed, but there are enough people to make the casual tourist wonder what the heck all these people are doing in Disneyland on a cold February morning.

We're planning for the last week of February/beginning of March and haven't had any trouble finding rooms. Maybe because you're trying to book for almost two weeks in a row? I don't know if that is giving you trouble. Try an extended stay-type place, maybe like Staybridge Suites in Anaheim.

Thanks, I didn't think of that since we always go for a couple of weeks when we fly to the States... The thing is, that we want to stay at a hotel, not in any kind of apartments... I'll try to split the stay between 2 hotels and see if it works...
