You are going to my former "neck of the woods" (New Haven area). I'm sure you could find some lovely back roads to follow through the Bethany, Orange and Woodbridge area at that time of the year looking for antiques, craft fairs , etc.
For a day trip you might enjoy the Mystic Seaport or Sturbridge Village.

Best wishes.

In New Haven, just a few miles down the road, you have Yale University. If you are into museums check out the Peobody Museum of Natural History and the Yale Art Museum.
If you like Theater try the Long Wharf Theater just off I95 on New Haven Harbor and the Yale Reperatory Theater.
Also on the harbor are replicas of two tall ships. One is the slave ship Amisatad.
For nightlife there are a bunch of clubs in New Haven, including Toad's Place that has a national reputation.
Down I95, about 60 miles are two Indian Casinos, Foxwoods [Peqout Nation] and Mohegan Sun [Mohegan Nation] with world class entertainment.

Hope I didn't give you too many options

Foxwoods and Mohegan are a great idea. Besides the gambling, there are great shops, restaurants and bars:D I highly
recommend going there, it is a favorite place of my boyfriend's and I to just relax and have a drink under the waterfall. Have a great time whatever you decide to do! Kerry

I'm with you Christmas Tree Shop.I grew up in Ansonia,so everytime I go home I have to go there. But now on the shopping tour of Orange/milford I have added a quick stop at
Krispy Kreme.:p
If you are visiting for a good length of time. The home of Yankee Candle and Sturbridge Village,Historic Old Deerfield are about 1 1/2 hours away.New England has a lot to offer.

Have a good trip
