someone has to have eaten something besides the pizza at VN. Apparently in the minority here, but I did not like VN pizza (yes, I am Italian!). DD has requested a return trip here and I need something else to order. I am looking at the 3 different parmigiana dishes, veal (is it real veal or a veal patty?), chicken and eggplant (is the eggplant cooked well as nothing tastes worse than undercooked eggplant).

Anybody????

I had had both the eggplant and chicken parm. Both were delicious. The eggplant was very thinly sliced and not breaded. It was so flavorful and tender. Chicken was also excellent. My husband always gets the veal parm and loves it. Also, the candele pasta here is soooo good! I highly recommend that as well.

I was beginning to think EVERYONE eats pizza there. Eggplant parm is one of my favorite dishes and I think it'll be my choice that night.

We had:

Linguini Frutti di Mare

Shrimp, clams, mussels and squid tossed in marinara piccante - $26.00

Tortino Di Melanzane - Eggplant Parmigiana - $18.00

I like my eggplant breaded with cruch, but both were good. :goodvibes

I had the chicken parm. on my last trip and thought it was great. It came with roasted potatoes, which were okay...so, I concentrated on the chicken. It was pretty large.

Looks good except for the black skin of the eggplant:guilty:, hate the texture of the skin....I'm italian and we peel the eggplant, some don't though...Matter of preference.....:thumbsup2

We just ate here on 8/5. My DS did not want pizza and is a vegetarian, so she ordered the vegetable lasagna. She said it was so rich and delicious that she almost couldn't finish it. Looking back, she decided that it was one of her favorite meals of the trip.

You've gotten some good suggestions here. I'd just add that the Arancini is wonderful!!!

We had the spaghetti and meatballs and the candele and both were excellent....

I LOVED LOVED LOVED the Mezze Rigatoni alla Creme con Pollo returning in Sept just to have that dish again!!!:lovestruc:lovestruc

I thought the veal parmagiana was excellent. I've also been very happy with every small dish I've tried, especially the shrimp and white beans, eggplant caponata and arancini. Ironically, the pizza has been the only letdown...way undercooked on a couple visits (and perfect another time).

I love this thread, the food looks amazing! We dined at Tutto in May which was excellent and are going to Via Napoli this time around.

OK Pooch...now your Italian is starting to "show". ;)

a proud Marchigianna (never did learn to spell it right!!), like Italian graffitti, get it? Mark a John??!!! We're from the Adriatic side, abiout 100 miles northeast of Roma.

When we tried Via Napoli I wanted anything, but the pizza. Not because I don't enjoy pizza once in a while, but because its pizza; you can eat it anytime. So DH and I had the Chicken Parm and it was delicious! I loved the potatoes that came with the dish too! For appetizer we had the cold meats and cheeses which were good and these rice balls filled with cheese which was the only thing I did not enjoy from our meal. For dessert DH had the Tiramisu which he loved and I had the donuts with chocolate sauce which were good too. We liked it, we would go back :):thumbsup2
