We will be in a group of 8 this fall and I know most of them would LOVE Ohana (big meat eaters) but my daughter and I are vegetarians. Is there salad? Any veggies? Do they have mac-n-cheese for kids?

OMGOSH!!!! Thank you so much, it looks like I can actually request a vegan or raw vegan meal. That would be amazing, I usually have such a hard time and just eat salad. :woohoo:

I love WDW. :lovestruc

You won't find any vacation destination in the world that handles all sorts of dietary preferences and restrictions better than WDW.

If you mention that you're vegan when you make ADRs, they might put a note on the reservation to have a chef come talk to you about what's geared toward vegan, or make you something vegan from scratch.

Hey! I'm a vegetarian and Ohana is my favorite restaurant! I ate there on 3/20 and have a photo of the vegetarian dish they made me. I don't have my computer/camera cord because I am at my parent's house but I will be sure to share with you soon. They gave me kind of a stir fry tofu dish with lots of veggies and rice. It was AWESOME!

Mmmmm! Salad is my fav! I'm so excited to go to Ohana now, I hope we can get our ADRs at our 90 day mark!

I LOOOOOOOOOOVE WDW table service. Boma & Tusker House were SO accommodating with my needing vegan choices.

Counter Service? Eh...not so much!

Oh, I can't wait to see the photo! I'm going to 'Ohana in May :thumbsup2

I wasn't planning on ordering the vegetarian dish. Last time I did that they brought me the normal noodles but with some tofu thrown in. I can eat the bread, salad, veggies, noodles, and dessert. That seems like more than enough for me. However, I got up to go to the bathroom and our server asked my friend why I wasn't eating the meat. She told her I was a vegetarian so she brought out that awesome dish!

I'll be back to my apartment with access to my computer/camera cord so I will be sure to post! I'm planning on doing dining reviews, too. All of my options were vegetarian so be sure to check it out if you are going soon and want to know what to order!!!

I am glad you found out your answer and that Disney supports this so well for people that have made the vegan lifestyle choice, but the title of this post just about made me spit out my coffee. Ohana and vegan almost seems like an oxymoron to me, it is a meat lover's dream. :goodvibes

Hope you enjoy your meal, but of all the places in WDW, this is one I would be confident in saying you will.

I'll be looking out for your dining review! I posted a thread asking if there were any "healthier" dining reviews out there, and while people are giving me great suggestions, there really aren't many reviews out there. While I'm not a vegetarian, I often order meatless meals when we go out to dinner.

At 'Ohana, our server thought we were weird because we kept saying things like, "no thank you" or "just a little piece" when he came around with the skewers. The sides were so good that we really loved that dinner!:)

There's a whole article about Chef TJ at 'Ohana, and what he can do for vegetarians! :goodvibes

:goodvibes Thanks for posting this v_gan! :goodvibes

Twoboysnmygirl -- You are gonna love it! :yay:

The salad that everyone gets is vegan, and it is so yummy! We ate two bowls of it (not recommended -- we were so stuffed at the end of the night I wanted to lay down and die! lol!) I am excited for you to get a meal from Chef TJ -- be sure to take pics and post them here or link them on my blog! :thumbsup2

I KNOW!:lmao:

I was shocked when Chef TJ suggested we make a reservation for 'Ohana. He said "vegans think it is just a meatfest here, but no, no -- we do it all!" I was still a bit skeptical upon arriving, but after the hummus he served us, we knew we were in for a tasty ride!

Here's the photo of the veggie dish at Ohana. It's like stir-fried veggies/tofu with white rice and was awesome!!

Thanks for posting the photo! That tofu looks great :thumbsup2 I'm super excited about our ADR.

I've had several feasts prepared for me at Boma by TJ and we were planning to go back. Anyone know if Boma is still a good choice for vegans now TJ has moved?

Oh yes, Boma is WONDERFUL! I told the server I was vegan and she sent one of the chefs out who proceeded to walk me all around the buffet and tell me the ingredients in everything! Then she sent me out a salad of my own with no cheese on it. It was all wonderful and I was really impressed with how they handled it all. :)

When did you go? Me and my boyfriend have an ADR at Boma for May, and I'm hoping it's still as good as everyone says it is! :)

Did you call ahead at all, or is it necessary?
