Planning a 1st time trip this September. We are staying onsite. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect for the kids at Citywalk. Is it just restaurants that close to children when the music and cover starts? We are not big "shoppers" - anything else to do but eat and shop? Thanks in advance

There are some games there. (you can win prizes) There are also horse and carriage rides (which we did as a family), a merry go round and some water spritzers where the kids play. Our son was there for over 1 hour one day and had a blast. Hope this helps.

We have 10 & 13 year old girls. We went the first night before going to the parks just to check things out. We ate at Pastamore then just walked around a little. We are not arcade fans but there are a few a games like Spidey said. There are a few shops (Endangered Species, Cartoon something - which had very little). There was music in the center area and a Emcee was doing a fabulous job of getting the crowd to participate. We sat, had some Dippin' Dots and watched for an hour. Then there was a rock band that came out. If you don't eat there, you might find it hard to kill any substantial amount of time there. It was best at night time when it was all lit up.

Can we find anything Dora at City Walk?

TIA! and sorry to highjack!

There is a "Universal" store (I forget the exact name) that usually has a decent amount of Dora merchandise, tho probably more Sponge Bob and Spiderman. On the ground level, next to the big staircase.

Re: live entertainment. There used to be a very cool show with "street performers" in CityWalk (I think this is what Theresa is referring to), but it is gone.

There is the nature store that kids seem to love and then the water fountain squirter thingys.

DD really enjoys the live music. We've eaten at Margaritaville and stayed to listen. Also Latin Quarter has live music outside some evenings. DD is a parrot head like her mom, so she enjoys hanging around outside margaritaville and listening to the performers outside (don't know if they will seat children outside or not, we've never tried)

Not sure if you mean on the porch or across the walkway by the plane, but they seat children at both; in fact, there is a sandbox with pails and shovels under the plane, as well as some kid-sized lounge chairs.
