My son wrestled when you was younger. Let me tell you, from a parent's prospective it's a brutal sport!! When you see your kid out there on that mat, you just want to scream to end the match when your child isn't winning. It's TOUGH!! As has already been stated, the boys do cry when they lose too and that's so heartbreaking to watch.
My son has tried mostly all the sports that are available in our area at one time or another. Wrestling was the worst, IMO. We have about 3 trophies though, so it was good while he participated. We made some memories, but I'm thankful he didn't want to continue with it. Both of my kids go to the high school next year and my son who is a soccer player (9 years under his belt) has to decide between soccer, football and wrestling (both the football and wrestling coaches have approached him to join their teams). I'd like him to stick with soccer, but it's ultimately his decision. I doubt he'll consider wrestling.
