Everyone tells me to enjoy my holiday weekend and asks what I'm doing on my days off. Problem is, I worked all weekend and work tomorrow! I'm too exhausted to do anything after work, too.

Anyone else working this Labor Day?

Both DH (retail manager) and I (cubicle dweller) are working tomorrow. Quite a few people I know are.

i didn't think anyone other than banks and gov. took it off.
the only holidays i take off are easter, christmas, and most years i'll take a half day thanksgiving.

My DH and I are both retail managers and yes, we are both working tomorrow.

But - I will get a comp day that I can take by the end of the month for the holiday. I do LOVE that flexibility with my holidays!

I'm working a half day at my part-time job, and and half day at my full-time job on Monday. Fortunately I enjoy the work and it's not stressful or strenuous.:)

31st consecutive Labor Day my wife and I have worked.

Funny, people expect the news to be on the TV even when it's a holiday.:rotfl:

At least the stations we work at aren't producing the Jerry Lewis telethon.....when we did you normally had at least one additional 8 hour overtime shift over the weekend to get it on the air.

Plan on working tomorrow, but working for pleasure.

Just bought a used VW Jetta, Black a little over a month ago. It need some love on the black paint. Washed it up this evening and it's sitting in the backyard ready for tomorrow for some paint polishing. Hope to have a mirror finish by tomorrow evening.

Did the required weekend work on the house (cedar siding paint stripping) so that I can have the time tomorrow to work on the car finish.

I could have taken the holiday off with pay or worked it for double time and a half...I took the double time and a half--hard to turn down 20 hours of pay for only working 8!

I am. The only holidays I am guaranteed to have off are Christmas and Thanksgiving.

my "employer" (i'm considered an independent contractor) has promised a bonus to those who work tomorrow, and i'm thinking about taking advantage of it, but i sprained my right wrist friday night, so i'm not sure i'll be able to do it (i'd be typing all morning).

I don't know rodgers, sounds more like you will be having fun the working, LOL!

My DH has to work tomorrow, just about the holiday he is off is christmas and even that is never for sure.

Double time and a half?!?!?!?!?! We only get time and a half tomorrow!

Well, I'm not going to school. That's the only real work I have.

I'm a student, and my campus is closed tomorrow. I wouldn't have had class anyway though. I go Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

My boyfriend works at Bridgestone (like the car tires?) and he isn't working tomorrow but he gets holiday pay. If he took the over time, he would have gotten time and a half plus holiday pay. He decided to just take the holiday pay though.

Tell me about it.
I've had work friday, saturday, sunday, and tomorrow.

I'm way too tired to do anything besides crash. XD

yeah the restaurant business never closes, holiday or no holiday, people have to eat..."so off to work i go...."

Sigh... hospitals don't close over holidays, in fact they get crazy busy in the ER because everyone else is not working and doing something crazy in their spare time. Over the 4th of July weekend, I have seen a guy who set his legs on fire with charcoal fluid, a woman that fell off a mountain bike with her baby in one of those backpack carriers :scared1: (the baby was fine, the mom suffered multiple broken bones) and another woman came in with a very distraught daughter who had her head stuck in a drink dispenser container . We always joke that full moons and holiday weekends bring in the most interesting patients.
