Anyone with recent non-Wish Halloween experiences?

We'll be sailing soon on the Fantasy for a Halloween on the High Seas. I saw the thread about the disappointing HOTHS cruise on the Wish; I'm wondering if anyone has a report from one of the other ships? I'm mostly wondering about the Mousquerade evening and trick or treating. If it's just walking up to a table to get one pre-filled bag of candy and calling it a day I may not bother having my kids dress in costume (and just have us all wear Halloween shirts instead). How much of a madhouse were the events? Were they worth it? What was the schedule like? Any info so I can set appropriate expectations/plan would be much appreciated!

We were on the Magic, and Trick or Treating went all around Cabanas. The line was long, was out until the adult area! However, the line was very fast and we got lots of candy!

The story time was very crowded

There were plenty of backdrops with Halloween themes.

We just got off a HOTHS on the Magic as well. I thought the ToT was a little disappointing being set up in Cabanas (we did the Dream pre-COVID and they set everything up in the atrium and had game stations as well). The trick though is wait until 5 or 10 minutes are left to get in line so then it is much shorter. Our ToT went from 8:30-9:00 and people started lining up at 8:00! They had The Nightmare Before Christmas playing on Funnel Vision so we just sat there and watched the movie until the line died down and then jumped in at the tail end.

This is a great pro tip -- I assume there was plenty of candy then so if you were near the end they still had enough? I'd hate to make my kids wait and then have them run out before we got to the front. Also, was there just one round of trick or treating or were there two to accommodate the two dining times? We're late dining which would mean we'd be at dinner during the window you mentioned...

Two times, one for each dinner seating.

We recently experienced trick or treating on both the Wish and the Magic. It was more fun on the Magic!

The Mousequerade dance party was similar but the trick or treating very different. On the Wish, cast members distributed pre packaged bags of candy from 4 tables around deck 11. On the Magic, we trick or treated around Cabanas at several stations it felt more like the “real thing”.

Because the Magic was a 3 night cruise, the Halloween and Pirate Night were held on the same night. Halloween was earlier (separate times to accommodate dining ) and then the Pirate Party was about 10:15 followed by fireworks.

Guests were dressed in Halloween and pirate costumes and many guests just wore Halloween or pirate tee shirts. It was all fun.

Thank you for all the responses. I'm also laughing looking back at @bobbiwoz 's picture of the trick or treat bag and the fact that it has a Moana 2 ad on it. Disney never misses an opportunity for product placement!

It's interesting that it's different from ship to ship; different cruise directors making different choices I guess?

Yes, there was plenty! They just gave everyone a handful at each station.

I did HOTHS on the Magic last month. The only thing I cared about was meeting the characters in their Halloween outfits. I got pictures with Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, and Donald (plus Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle as the Sanderson Sisters)

Definitely. And that goes for all the daily activities. We had a real snoozer transatlantic crossing once. This is one aspect of DCL that is not consistent.

Here’s the other side of the Trick or Treat bag. Something I am not familiar with, but it is another product.
