Anyone with Kodak Z1012 PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I bought the Kodak Z1012 thinking it was amazing, and it is with flash and with sunlight, BUT if the flash dosnt hit an object the whole picture is blurry, grainy and any place that is dark has steady lines going through it. What can I do? I want to return it because all my pictures are being ruined, but I cant return it. I really dont want to buy a new camera but I dont want my pictures ruined. How do I fix my problem?

If it has some manual modes, you could take control of the shutter speed, ISO, and aperture to minimize it. I assume that you are trying to get lower lighting shots. If so, then the subject needs to be stationary and you need a tripod. It is nearly impossible to get low light motion shots with a p&s camera. Also, post some examples so we can evaluate exactly what is going on.
