Anyone who has mentioned the word...

LOL, Lauren, then how do make notes if it's laminated? Do you use the dry markers?? I agree, special commando badge for Lauren! :D

How pathetic am I? I really did that in June, and then when I had to alter my laminated itinerary  on our FIRST day at WDW I was at a loss. Try finding a dry marker at WDW. I was etching my changes in.;)

::Standing ovation ::all Bow down to laurenk
Lauren, I think you win. We can all stop now, we have a winner!

but seriously, isn't it funny how we get so caught up in the planning. Next time, instead of laminating, stick it into a plastic sleeve, (like a photo album picture size?) then you can whip it out and make changes!

(what does you r family say?)

My DH just smiles and shakes his head, my mom and aunt just humor me, but I DID notice they carried their laminated itineraries all 10 days, and referred to them frequently!!!:D

::bowing very deeply to laurenk::

Yes, I do give out copies (and I get a lot of rolling eyes), but I never thought to laminate or use a page protector for the final.

Akshally, I make a notebook (or use Passporter), complete with itinerary, hotel, car and airline reservations, driving directions, and menus of all the restaurants we're visiting. Makes interesting reading while on the plane, unless I've got a new book.

LaurenK...you da girl! :D You crack me up! I LOVE your style! :)

Hey, where does one find one of those fancy Passporters that I hear so much about??? :)

Okay, back to painting.........

Steve-

You don't find it a little cumbersome(Spelling?)? My friend Kbeverina got one, and although it is a great organizer, I sure couldn't fit it in my fanny-pack along with the other 100+ items I squeeze in there!;)

I am also interested in seeing picutes of your red paint job. It sounds beautiful! We have been in our new house for 7 months, and the white walls are driving me nuts!! We are waiting for our year walk-thru before we hit the walls with paint.

Tia- Your yellow ceiling looks GREAT!

Okay...

Last year my itinerary was kept in a binder for the room... each day had two copies of the colour and graphics sheets and two black and white backup/change sheets.

Copy one (colour) stayed in the binder as a keepsake...

Copy two (also colour) was placed daily on my boyfriends bed each evening fpr the following day so he knew what to look forward to... usually with some sort of little treat...

Copy three (working copy) also stayed in the binder so that if changes needed to be made to an upcoming day as a result of a change on the current day (heaven forbid!) this could be done without undue scribbling on copy one (colour). Should such an event occur a footnote to refer to copy three would be made on copies one and two.

Copy four was folded daily into my backpack as a guide... and include a section on the back for trip report notes.

All copies included PS numbers, ride durations, transportation tips and suggested clothing (co-ordinated to the packing list) PS numbers were also on laminated cards in each wallet. Menu suppliments to the PS card were made available upon request...

Any doubt I am a commando? *giggles*

You guys REALLY put ol' disneycub to shame. ;)

I'll post some pictures this afternoon. Promise!

The Passporter WAS cumbersome, so I just pulled out the little pocket-thingie for that day and brought it along. Mainly I used the Passporter for my AP, tickets for special events and receipts, which was really handy, since I tend to lose receipts. And I'm just manic about keeping track of every penny I spend. That way when I get home I can add all the receipts up and THEN pass out when I see the total. ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHA...POOR POOR DAN. He printed out my excel sheets this morning. I really hated teling him that all those plans have changed!!! At one time he thought I was so normal????

OK, here are the pictures. Obviously I'm not used to the digital camera yet:

Bandit's room (this was my first attempt at glazing, and it shows...I've gotta re-do it so it doesn't look like crooked wallpaper)

This is part of my bedroom. The photos are my mom and dad's wedding picture, and a picture taken right before they passed on.

And this is a piece of the bathroom (or my bordello room)

All of the base paint and glazes are Ralph Lauren paint (la de dooo dah!).

Hey Robin,

What's normal? If you ever find it, pass some on to me! ;)

Steve-

That is pretty cool! Is it hard to do?

I wanted to do my DH's office in the Ralph Lauren Gold with a glaze. Not the bright shiny one, the more antiquey looking one. He isn't too keen on the idea, but who asked him anyway!?!?:D

All it takes is a little time, a lot of patience, and a cool head. The base coat is easy. Putting the glaze on and doing the brush and paper bag imprints before the glaze dries is a little crazy. I learned a lot on the bedrooms, and by the time I got to the bathroom, it was pretty easy. Only thing you have to be really careful of is not overlapping the glaze too much, otherwise you get what I got in the blue room. One of these days I'll remove the glaze in that room and start over. Or maybe NOT. :D

Steve, you must have been reading my mind!:)

How DO you remove the glaze when you wany to do something diiferent to the wall?

By the way, I really like the way the walls look - especially the "goldy"one!

Thanks,
Corinne

The gold and brown is my favorite.

You can get a glaze remover from the Home Depot or one of those places. It was the first thing I asked when I decided to do the paint. Don't know how easy or messy it is, but I guess it couldn't be any worse than doing the paint.

Steve, the rooms look great. Love the Disney Parks mao in Bandit's room. Is that so he can track you while you are on vacation?

I noticed the map too! :bounce: I have several maps for DL and WDW that I want to frame....nothing fancy, but very colorful! (of course! :D ).....and hang them in our family room....that is going to MY Disney room...when it's all said and done. :)
