If you've been there before, and didn't like it.. tell me why?

We went twice & I just didn't get the point. ( we tried it 2x to see if we just missed something the 1st time) I didn't dislike it..I just didn't see what paying the extra money was for. We got cookies & hot cocoa but other than that we just walked around & saw the parade..their was no point. (sounds harsh when I am typing this) I didn't feel it was worth the $ to do the rides that we could have done during the day. We did MNSSHP this past October & that was worth it to us...IMHO.

We went last year for the first time and would have to agree with previous poster. It was absolutely packed (thursday night), shows we went to weren't spectacular (nice but not for the extra money). Parade was ok, but we really arent parade people. The only good part was going on Splash Mountain during the 2nd parade and they let us ride 3 times in a row because there were no other people waiting. Just wasn't worth the money in our minds, won't be doing it next year when we go.

I didn't "dislike" it but, I have to say that it isn't as "convenient" as many make it out to be.

The Christmas parade was "ok" in my opinion but I wouldnt wait for it again.

While you do have quite a while to do things, if you plan on seeing the fireworks, you dont get near as much done as you think. You figure by 9:00 you are waiting for fireworks, so you can only do so much before them (and there ARE lines earlier in the party, 30-45 minutes on Dec. 1 for Space Mtn before the fireworks).

The fireworks were great, no complaints there, but by the time they are over at 9:40 or so, you basically have 2 hours to get everything done. If you watched the early parade, then basically you have done nothing much to this point. So you basically have 2 hours to do the things you paid the money to do. If you HAVE NOT done the parade yet, then you are going to spend 30 -45 minutes doing this later in the evening.

While we enjoyed it, we didn't get near as much done as we wanted, and we were really shocked at the crowds up until 1 hour to go.

We didn't really notice a "thinning" of the crowds until maybe 11:00.

The best part we thought was after 12:00 when the rides closed and we stayed in the park until 1:30 taking photos.

The first time we went, we were in the parks that day and didn't think it was worth the money. This year, we slept in and didn't arrive at the MK until 4pm for MVMCP. In that case, it was a full day at MK and was more than worth the dollars. Sense the park was closing early, most of the day people were leaving and we rode everything in tomorrowland with little to no wait. When they finally closed all the rides, we went to the galaxy theater to await the show. Then, we started touring again and rode a lot during the first parade. We rode more after the fireworks and caught the second parade in frontierland/liberty square. We finished by riding until the park closed. So I would say do it as a seperate day. We also did a Tuesday when I figured most of the locals would be at home.

It was OK, and I'm glad we tried it once, but it was crowded. We had a long wait at the Galaxy theater- the show was very good. We are not great parade fans. We had been in the parks all day, so by 10:30 we were tired and left. I wouldn't go again.

I just wanted to comment I was there on 12/4 and it was crowded! I had a difficult time believing all those people spent so much money for a few hours of party but hey whatever!

I'm glad we did it but honestly if I picked on one thing it was the crowds. We never walked onto any rides like I had heard from people in years past.

I went to two MVMCP's, on Nov. 29 and Dec 1st. While it was fine and I had a nice time, it wasn't comparable to MNSSHP to me! MNSSHP was so much better and so much more fun! MVMCP has far less characters than MNSSHP (which of course is my favorite thing!). MVMCP just didn't seem too much different than a normal park day. I must say that the shows were very nicely done at MVMCP, and the parade was more "TV" quality (since it is on TV!). But MNSSHP is the best - lots of characters, alot more "mood", everyone in costumes, a more fun parade and music, and getting candy!

To me, MVMCP does not have a "goal", while MNSSHP has a definate goal - go trick-or-treating around Magic Kingdom!

I am glad I went to MVMCP, but probably won't rush back next year. I almost laugh when I see posts asking for tickets to the sold-out parties! It's cute, but I wouldn't go to great lengths to go again. But MNSSHP - I am already trying to plan to get to 2006's parties! :teeth:

We did our lst one on Dec. 1st. We too slept later and got to the park around 4. We started with dinner in cp. Then it was a hassle to try to find out where to get the wristbands, alot of misinformation. We went to the lst show at the Galaxy Theater. It was standing room only so we decided not to stay, also we were to meet another dis'er and couldnt find him. The line for the picture was really long and production like. We saw the parade twice, fireworks, the lst parade we were by the castle and the lines were 6 deep, that is really crowded to me. We saw the show in front of the castle. The lines for character photos, donald with scarf for example was about 25 people long. We left about 11 ish. The 3 teen ds stayed to the end. We didnt go on any rides before ll because I kept thinking I need to see all these shows to get my moneys worth etc. I wasnt stressing too much about the rides because we have ap's and can go whenever we want. My ds got the hot chocolate and cookies and said the lines were huge for that. We did just get our souvenier photo today, it came out pretty good. I guess we would do it again if they wanted to, but its pretty expensive.

We were under-whelmed by it. It wasn't bad, but for the price of a separate admission, it just didn't seem to be all that special. Mostly just a normal, everyday visit to the MK with fake snow.

We just retured on Saturday from a week and did not go to any of the the parties while we were there, I think they had a total of three. Last year we went to one and the kids really didn't enjoy it so we decided not to spend the money this year. We gave the kids the option of going or not and they said it was to crowded last year.

This is one of those "been there done that" in our books.

Not worth the extra price. Fireworks, parades, and shows were nice, but not worth the admission. If you really want to catch all the rides, just save the money from the party admission and stay at WDW one extra day :)

We want to try the Halloween party next time. Sounds like it is more fun than the Christmas one.

And snow wasn't that great either! I was expecting Main Street blanketed by 2 inches of white stuff, not the fake bubble crap floating around in the air. I know, I know, it would be heck to clean all that up, but still - I was disappointed. I walked down Main Street and was telling my DW they probably have not turned on snow machine yet. Then I noticed the dandruff flakes in the air. How disappointing!

Looking out my window now I see like 8 inches of snow and it's free! :)

yeah we sneaked in for a few hours (had a late dinner at ltt), it was very crowded compared to earlier in the day. tues11/29; fireworks are awesome compared to regular wishes which was kinda weak; from a brochure in the poly the parade looked really good though not the regular spectro parade, but something with toy soldiers.. is it worth the extra money - not if you don't have it and have nothing else to do, i would rather rest and get ready for the next day

stay tuned for my tell all review of the good and bad of my recent trip..

See that is what gets me. I enjoy it and we plan to go back. We have done 3 MVMCP's. Now each year it does seem to get more crowded and each year they do a little less. I remember the characters were more abundant. The cookies were much better. They handed out free buttons during the party. Now its just basic with a little holiday flair.

I will still go, it is a family tradition.

We probably wouldn't do it again. We did like walking right on Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion while tons of other people were saving their spaces for the parade. We never did find the place(s) to get your free photo. The cookies and cocoa were pretty good... Couldn't find seats anywhere except at Casey's (our own fault for not saving a spot earlier) and then we couldn't see anything of the parade except for the tops of the floats. Our spot did afford us a prime view of the fireworks though. I just didn't have the energy to stay later than the fireworks.

I did it once and that was enough for me. I would not do it again, but I did not dislike it. It was really packed and it was at the the first of dec so I would hate to see it closer to christmas,

We did the MVMCP in nov. 2004 and are planning to go back in 2006. We were on one of the quieter days (I think) and got in there early with a 4:20 ressie at LTT. I really loved the event, but I was SHOCKED at how crowded the shows were. I am hoping to get to see one next time!

and I would most likely not be back. We went on Friday 12/2. I would at some point like to try MNSSHP... I didn't see what the big fuss was all about. I think maybe in previous years they may have done more. It was a bit crowded towards the latter part of the evening and I prefer the regular Wishes to the Special Xmas ones. We had ADR's at the California Grill on Thursday night so we got to see the fireworks from there the previous night.

I don't think it's worth the extra money... We didnt' get to see the "snow" on Main Street , but from what a previous poster stated it was Bubbles? I'm glad I didn't see that, I would have been terribly disappointed. The hot cocoa was fairly good and so were the cookies. We did get our picture but had to ask 4 CM's before they directed us the right way... NO CM knew what we were talking about!!! I was afraid to post that I didn't really like MVMCP, but I'm glad that I'm not alone.

We went to the Dec. 1 party. I don't want to say that I didn't like it, I just thought it would be different. Granted this was our first party, but it seemed like more rides should have been open and some wait times were pretty long. But, then again, there were some rides that you could just walk right on, like Pirates of the Caribbean and TTA.

I LOVED the Christmas Wishes fireworks!! They were fabulous!
