Anyone "wear" their TODDLER??

So so cute! Now I want to make a slip cover for my mei tai! Thanks for the idea.
You are welcome. It was very easy. I traced the carrier onto a piece of poster board, added a 1 inch seam allowance and cut two pieces of fabric. I cheated and the red dot fabric is actually all the way across and then I sewed the Minnie panel on top of that. I figured that was less of a chance to mess up than to try and make 3 panels and hope they fit right. I am an sewing novice, so if I can do it anyone can.

That's a great tip, I will definitely checkout the FB page!! Thanks.

Even if you decided to buy something new, you can check out the page to resell your carrier when you are done with it. You can buy, sell, or trade any ergonomic carrier (no Baby Bjorns, Snugglis, many of the Infantinos) but most all others. It is a great way to get a good portion of your money back.

I liked a ring sling in a hip carry when my kids were toddlers at WDW.

A Mei Tie in a back carry is okay but takes a little more effort than I wanted to do while in a line. Plus anything small enough (like a sling or wrap) is really easy to just wear (empty) on a ride when you get to the front of the line.

I can still wear my 29lb 2 year old in the Ergo and I am pretty petite for a decent amount of time.

Another vote for the ergo. Love mine. The Marshalls around me had them for $69 a few weeks ago.

There are a lot of websites where you can rent them for two weeks for like $30 I think. I was actually thinking about doing this for our trip.

An Ergo or Beco or similar SSC is going to be the simplest, but honestly, I would never go back to carrying an older child in anything but a nice wrap conversion. It cost me more than any other carrier I've owned (bought it used), but OH MY GOSH it is heavenly to wear...child becomes light as a feather, no pressure points, etc. I have a Bamberoo WC. It's actually thicker so I wouldn't use it in really warm weather but if I planned on wearing my child a lot in that then I'd find a more lightweight one.

I still sometimes use my ring sling for my 20 month old, but he's 29 lbs and it's getting a bit uncomfortable. It helps though for those times when he's tired and wants to cuddle. He won't stay in it very long though. I like having it with me though because it's handy as something to lay on, or use as shade, or a nice light blanket, and I can squish it up and fit it in my bag.

Do you know of any sites? I can always google it, but curious of first hand experience.

The Ergo is our go-to carrier from birth until the weight limit maxes out. The weight is carried on your hips and not your back, and it doesn't dangle the kid by the crotch causing spine damage the way other carriers do.

The plan was for our youngest to use the stroller. He was a few months shy of 3 years old. The problem was that he refused to sit in the stroller. There's no way to make a child to sit in a stroller who refuses. He refused to walk too. Luckily, I had brought my ring sling, and so I carried him using that. It was out of practice after a year of not wearing him, but we managed. Though I used the ring sling, I've heard the Ergo is better for toddler wearing.

The next year, bribery finally worked to get him to sit in the stroller, so I didn't have to carry him. The next year, his sensory issues actually made him want to sit in the stroller though he had to be carried in lines. (It was his sensory issues that had him refuse the stroller in that other trip).

*I used the ring sling with my first child until 16 months old easily. He was 33 lbs then. It was actually much easier with a slightly heavier child who was older due to how the weight was spread out. However, me being out of practice muscle-wise was an adjustment.

I just saw an ERGObaby Performance carrier on Amazon for $85. From what I saw that is a pretty good price, gotta love Cyber Monday!! I'm going to give that a whirl. Thanks for all the insight and suggestions.

When my boys were two - four I users a ring sling for lines. It was the easiest for getting then in an out of quickly - for those times when you miss judge how soon you will load onto the ride. I also brought my mei tai but it was too much work when they kept wanting down and then back up.

Kinderpack! Here I am wearing my daughter who was 4 years old and 40 lbs at the time. It was a Pre-school Kinderpack with Standard straps.

Hello,

My family will be in Disneyland in January with a 3 year old and 22 month old. My little one is very active, but loves to be in the Ergo carrier. I plan to use a stroller between rides, but will put him in the Ergo while we wait in lines. My plan is this will keep him more comfortable and content in line - plus he loves to sleep in the Ergo. I would highly recommend wearing!
