Apparently I am still in the stone age when it comes to contacts. I have worn the same brand for 30 years! It is a soft lens that I clean daily and replace yearly. I am of the belief that if it ain't broke, don't fix it but I always get lectured by the optometrist because there are apparently better products. :confused3

I know Acuvue is the popular brand but I would rather find something that I clean daily and keep for a month. I just don't envision me remembering to change them every two weeks. I can remember to give the dog his heartworm pill every month and change my contacts at the same time. :rotfl:

I found a brand called Focus that is monthly. Anyone use them? Any other brands? Thanks!

My son wears Acuvue and changes them once a month.

I used to get Bausch and Lomb brand lenses, and they were awesome! I had to get another type because I have astigmatism and for some reason, the B & L ones were not fitting spot on like the other ones were. Before my eyes changed shape and still fit in the B & L, I loved them. They were said to be monthly contacts, but I could sometimes stretch it out to 6 weeks. Any time after that though, you can tell they aren't still good because they start to make your eyes feel funky.

My new lenses are Biomedics 55. So far, so good on those. My eye doctor doesn't like to prescribe Acuvue, so I don't have any insight on those. I think I tried Focus monthly when I first started trying contacts, but they didn't fit my eyes properly because of the astigmatism. What can I say, I've got funky shaped eyes! :rotfl:

My 11 yo son wears Biomedics

My DH wears Acuvue.

They both tried several different kinds before they found the ones that fit right. Our eye doctor gives us a trial pair before we purchase them.

I use Focus monthly. They last about a month, sometimes longer. They are the only kind I have ever used.

I was exactly like you are, I wore daily wear lenses for just about 20 years. The brand was CSI and you'd change them once a year. A few years ago I tried disposable ones and they just moved around too much in my eye and I couldn't stand to wear them so I gave up. Finally about a year ago my eye Dr convinced me to try Acuvue Oasis and I absolutely LOVE them!! I replace them every month.

CSI! Those are the ones I have been wearing for 30 years! :cool1: I go tomorrow for my yearly exam and I know the doctor will try to talk me out of the CSI. I have tried the disposables in the past but they moved around on me so much. The CSI contacts are suppose to be as hard as you can get for a soft lens. The disposables seem so flimsy. I will ask for some different samples to try and maybe I can find one I like.

Try out the ones I mentioned if you can, it took a minute for it to settle on my eye and then I loved them!!!! Let me know how it goes!

I have monthly lens just recently but due to my horrable eye sight and bad augmentism i have to get specialones but they dolast a month they are called proclear :) but i dont think that is in your cause my dr says it is only for "special" eyes proclear lol i could noteven wear acuve or any others due to my eye sight cant go that strong with those kind of brands but just giving you input :)
