Anyone wathing the live Trading Spaces?

They probably just didn't have time to get the live reveal to the point where they could replay it with a repeat yet. I'm sure they will show it with the next rerun of this episode (Sunday at 12pm EST)

I read an article about the Wine Label home owners. They really did NOT like the wine labels and the four of them scraped those puppies off ASAP! :)

If I was on Trading Spaces, and I found out that Hilde was going to be doing my room, I think I would just cry the entire time. I can think of nothing worse than Hilde doing my room. Wine stickers for wall paper? Hay on the walls? Silk flowers all over my bathroom? I don't think so.

I actually thought that Hilde's room on the live show last night was rather tame for Hilde. Yes, the colors were bright, but there wasn't anything totally outrageous about it (I'm surprised she didn't cover the room with poker chips or something since they were in Vegas).

I thought Doug's room was a bit on the dark side for a bedroom. I don't like dark walls in a bedroom. Bedrooms should be more soothing and cozy. I thought the stripper pole bed was pretty interesting.

Now I wish I would have watched the repeat.

The live reveal was OK, all the HO's seemed to like their rooms.

I really like Doug's Venetian Plaster, we just did that in our bathroom and I love it. (Only not brown, not a big brown fan myself)

Hilde makes good TV, I always dislike what she does. She seems to go for the opposite of whatever a HO requests.

HO wants room lighted up? She paints everything black
HO wants the "big hole" in the wall covered up? She prefers to emphasize it.
HO likes their sofa's but would like them recovered. She get's rid of them completely.
etc.

Actually, for the live show, the Hilde room was pretty tame by Hilde standards.

I LOVE this show. Now I'm gonna have to catch the replay at noon today to see if they show the "mess up" ending or the taped live ending.

I agree that Hilde's room was rather tame for her. The color can be fixed easily enough. Doug's room was too dark for me but I do love the walls. I want to try that.

I thought this show was a bit disapointing.

I'm watching the rerun of the Live Reveal episode today, and they are showing the actual homeowner reactions.

I think the live episode would have been a lot more fun with a little more homeowner angst. Seeing the typical "I love it" reactions these homeowners had didn't make the live reveal any different from a regular show for me.

I must say that I loved the Vegas/Broadway-style commercials with Paige.

During the reveal of the wine-label kitchen, did I hear mention that the homeowners are pastors? I guess Hildi's purpose is simply to introduce controversy for good television. Do you think she truly thinks her designs are wonderful, or is she in on the joke?

I thought the live reveal was kind of anticlimactic after all the build up with the commercials. Both sets of HO's loved their rooms and jumped up and down and squealed with delight.

I guess I thought the live reveal would be different somehow, but it was just like a regular taped reveal (except when Doug, Hildi and Amy Wynn came out). Now I wish I would have seen the rerun with the producers acting like HO's, that sounds funny.

The wine label episode couples were neighbors of one of my cousins. I saw my aunt over the holidays and she mentioned that there was a paint truck there the next day. They weren't at all happy with the labels and they were gone pretty quickly.

I quess my cousin's complaint was the groupies ;) I quess getting around in the neighborhood was kind of crazy while the cast was there.

Bumming that I missed the later repeat. I caught the "live" episode and have to agree that after all the hype it was kind of anticlimatic. Although I think the "guest" stars were funny. Here we are painting furniture and now here's Robin Leach with the champagne (would definitely make painting a lot more fun). And magic with Penn & Teller! Paige and Rita Rudner were cute together, but I would have liked to have seen a better Elvis.

Doug's room wasn't too bad and he and the homeowner's had a lot of fun together (or so it seemed). Doug seems to get into the mode of the show and run with it. Has anyone else noticed that he finds a prop in the room and then sits there playing with it while the room is cleared (clipping his toenails, reading the entries in the dayplanner). Of course it's cut so it looks that way, I'm pretty sure he's helping out. He also seems to catch the homeowner's personality that he's working with and go with it -- he kept calling the woman "babe" but I didn't think it was offensive as I usually do, he was just "playing" a role. Can you tell I like Doug a lot?

Hildi's room wasn't so bad. I could live with the ceiling and walls and maybe you could put down some rugs or something. Some of the colors of the furniture though...at least it wasn't painted! I do think Hildi does rooms just to be outrageous. I missed most of the first episode so I don't know what the deal was with the wine labels (if she HAD to do that I'd like to see a little variety in labels...different wines). At least she "conceded" and put up a pot rack instead of a wine rack!

I saw the repeat but DH saw the one with the crew making fun of people "oh where's my ceiling fan?" etc.
I didn't mind Doug's walls but what happens in 5 years when they want to paint it a different color? What paint in the world will adhere to wax?
I didn't mind Hilde's room either except the floor was awful.
DH is a remodeler. He went to the website and ordered a bunch of merchandise to raffle off at the big "home show" coming up next month (fill this out for a chance to win a TS T-shirt, no $ involved, but it gets traffic to his booth). He looked at the application and he said you basically do sign your life away if you agree to do the show. I don't think I'd have the nerve.
